    David,

    What version of Moneydance are you currently using? It would also be helpful to know your operating system.

    The sync options vary among the different versions. For example, Moneydance 2017 introduced a new sync engine with features not available with previous versions.

    Several Knowledge Base articles concerning Syncing can be found here:

    Thanks. My desktop version is 2014.5! Is their value in upgrade to 2017 to help sync issue with the iPad app?

    David,

    Moneydance 2017 provides enhanced syncing options. I updated from 2015 to 2017, since data syncing is very important for me.

    This link has very detailed information:
    http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/moneydance-2017/sharing-data-using-the-moneydance-2017-syncing-engine

    A key take-away from the article is the three sync methods:

    =============
    Dropbox Folder - Sync using the Dropbox folder on this computer. This will allow Moneydance to process synced data even if you're not connected to the Internet at the time.

    Dropbox Connection - Sync by connecting to your Dropbox account. Moneydance will communicate with the Dropbox service if you authorise it to access your files.

    Shared Folder - Sync using a folder that you specify that is shared across computers or devices
    ==============

    I use the Folder method, for more sync flexibility. I currently sync two Windows 7 computers plus an Android device.

    James
