Moneydance 2011 (795)
OS: Windows XP 5.1 x86
Java: 1.6.0_26 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)

Dear MD Support Staff:
When a user selects 'Last 1 Day' as the 'Date' parameter of a Graph or Report, the 'Start Date' and 'End Dates' are the same. (Build 795 Sept-07-2011)
The expected behavior would be for the 'End Date' to be the current date and the 'Start Date' to be the prior date.
I've attached a screenshot illustrating the behavior.

    Hi Kevin

I am not certain this is incorrect.

The date fields are inclusive if the dates were from 9/5/2011 - 9/6/2011 transactions with either of these dates would be included in the report. Which is to say the report would include transactions from yesterday and today. I think last 1 day means just yesterday. It doesn't seem correct that last 1 day would have 2 days of transactions. I am of course open to changing my mind.

Maybe it would be more consistent if the last 1 day only included transactions from today's date.

    Hi Ben,

    Thank you for your reply.

This 'same day' behavior is new to build 795. In prior builds 'Last 1 Day' meant that the 'Start Date' would be the prior date and the 'End Date' would be the current date. This provided a means so that a comparison could be made between the two dates.

As an example, prior to build 795, selecting 'Last 1 Day' as the date parameter of an Investment Performance Report would generate a report indicating the gains or losses incurred over the past 1 day in the 'Return Amount' column.
As it stands now, in build 795, 0.00 is indicated in the 'Return Amount' column of the Investment Performance Report as there is no longer a comparison made between two different dates.

I've attached a screenshot taken on Sept 08, 2011 from build 792 illustrating the former behavior.

    Hi Ben,
    09/09/2011.
I confirmed this evening that in the 09-Sep-2011 02:36 build of 795, 'Last 1 Day' remains broken.
The prior date of 09/08/2011 is listed as both the 'Start Date' and the 'End Date'. The expected behavior is for the 'End Date' to be 09/09/2011.

    Hi Kevin,

We've reverted to the previous behaviour. You should see the change in tomorrow's daily build. Let us know if it still doesn't work as expected.

    Hi Jessica,

    Thank you.

I believe it was shortly after the posting of the following thread that the 'Last 1 Day' Date parameter was implemented into Moneydance.

    http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/suggestions/383-investment...

I think forum member 'forslund' described 'Last 1 Day' best as meaning the last 24 hours.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Jessica / Ben,

I can confirm that with the 13-Sep-2011 02:36 build of 795 that the 'Last 1 Day' issue appears now to be resolved.

The Investment Performance Report with a 'Last 1 Day' date parameter is no longer impotent.

    Thanks,

    Kevin N.
