I have been using local files and object serialisation to save data within my extensions. I see that you have new classes (LocalStorage and MoneydanceSyncableItem) can these be used instead of external storage. I wish to save key/value pairs. If this is the case can you give me a short precise of how they work so I can save my data within the MD environment.

Thanks
Mike

I'm sorry, I wrong a rather detailed reply but it was apparently lost before I sent it.

An abbreviated response is that I wouldn't try to declare your own subclasses of those (yet) but that is how syncing would work. Instead I would recommend using the existing classes and attaching your data to accounts, budgets, transactions, etc.

If you give me an idea of the kind of data you'd like to store I can hopefully provide some better guidance.

    Thanks,
    Sean

Sean, if you look at the discussion http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/moneydance-development/1211-moneydancesyncableitem I have detailed it there. When I didn't get a reply to this generic question I wrote a more detailed one.
    Regards
    Mike
