Quote Loader Issues - with Moneydance 2024.4
Hello,
I am attempting to use the Quote Loader Build 330104 with Moneydance 2024.4 and all I am getting is the screen hanging, see screenshot. Is there a new setting for the extension that I need to enable in order for it to run? Is there something else I am doing wrong? I haven't been able to update any security prices since 5/12/2025.

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

Well, two months of Yahoo HD could slow it down quite a bit (Yahoo now has throttling, and HD asks for all those prices between 5/12 to date).
Try this (it's new) - right-click on one item at the "New Price" area. You should see a "Get: stockticker" - choose it.
That will try to get only that item price. See if that also hangs. (obviously you'd bypass get prices in this case.)
If the single item also hangs, upload console after a "get prices" to let us see where it hangs.
Report back.

Hi -
The single ticker update works and is retrieving current prices. Is my
only option to do this individually for each ticker then?
Or should I do something else?

You could just do a get prices and then go out to dinner. You are asking for a LOT of data, on something which is now deliberately throttled (due to what has happened before). I don't think it is hung, it is just a very long process to complete.
Of course, you could do it one by one as well so you can see obvious progress. Your choice, - this is a one time thing (getting two months of data for each item)...

still, don't forget to select/save what you are getting. That's still a necessary component of the process.

It should not be hanging. With throttling it now takes between 1-2 seconds per ticker. Are any of them updating? Switch logging to DETAILED. Save parameters. Restart MD and try again. When you think it’s hanging, wait 5 mins, then grab help/show console and upload that here (as a .txt file attachment).

Hey guys,
After manually updating each quote using the original suggestion, I
restarted my machine and restarted MD as well. The quote loader is working
properly now, I am seeing a message after each quote saying throttling is
in place, but it is able to get everything loaded pretty quickly. Thanks
for your help.

Always restart Moneydance after a Quote Loader installations or upgrade.
