Infinite kind not answering private messages
I'm wondering if anyone has had any success getting questions answered by sending private forum messages to infinite kind. I asked a question wondering if there was anything in place that would allow an extension developer to charge for his extension (much the way Apple developers can charge a dollar or more for apps in the App Store) it's been weeks since I asked the question and haven't gotten a reply. Makes me wonder if I should even bother carrying on.

I am sorry I did not reply sooner.
No, there is not a system in place that allows developers to charge for an extension. However it is possible to host the extension file on your own site and charge users to download it. I know of one other developer who does exactly this for their "Money Foresight" extension here:

With respect to making a private or a public post, it makes no difference from the support staffs perspective if a post is public or private. All posts end up in the same bucket for us. Private questions do not get any special priority. We tend to prioritize cases where people are experiencing issues with the software or have lost their data which is probably why your question languished for so long.

Hi Roger,
The developer of Money Foresight has a Bitbucket site that you might want to post to. He might be able to give you some insights into setting things up.

Hi Ben,
That's great. Thanks. Then that brings me to another question. Do you or have you thought of keeping a registry of available plugins/extension. Not hosting the plugin, but just allowing developers to list their plugin on your site with a simple link to the plugin. As an example of why this would be a good idea - the plugin you linked me too is difficult to find just doing a Google search for Moneydance plugin. In fact, it doesn't show up. Not being able to find valuable plugins is a disservice to both the developer and InfiniteKind since plugins could very well make the difference to converting someone over to Moneydance or not. Just look at Apple's App Store as an example of how successful 3rd party apps make a product.
Thanks for listening.
Roger

We do maintain such a list. It is here:

Hi Roger,
I'm the developer of the Money Foresight extension. I'd be happy to share my experiences with you.
Also, to answer your question about an extension registry, you can ask Moneydance to host your extension and it will show up in their Extension Manager within Moneydance itself.
Cheers,
Kevin
