I am working on a personal project that has me extracting data from my Moneydance file using Python. The plan is to extract the data and save it as a JSON object and then do further manipulation elsewhere.

The question that I have is how do I interact with Moneydance using Python without having to use the Python Extension inside Moneydance? I can get my script working just fine inside the extension, but when I run the script from the command line it fails.

I have downloaded the Moneydance Developer kit but I don't see much documentation at the moment.
