Quotes and Exchange rates
Since about one week, I have a problem with the "Quotes and Exchange rates" extension. My securities in US$, CHF and EUR are OK, but the quotes for my securities in SEK are a factor of 100 too high. It started to happen when I moved to Moneydance 2017, but I have now the same problem when I go back to Moneydance 2015. Any idea what causes the problem?

As a follow-up to my problem with SEK "Quotes and Exchange rates", I now see that my budget manager is counting my Swedish assets 100 times too high (base currency in EUR), so it looks as the conversion within the program is not correct.

The problem above where the budget manager was counting my Swedish assets 100 times too high, was due to the fact that my Swedish assets were attributed to a Category denominated in SEK, whereas my base currency is EUR. Must all categories be in the base currency?

Can you provide a few SEK ticker symbols I want to try and replicate the issue with the Q and E extesnion.
Are these securities in the same investment account. What is the currency of that account.

Here are a few examples of SEK ticker symbols: ELUX-B, ERIC-B and VOLV-B, all at the OMX Nordic Exchange – Stockholm.
After having changed the category for the shares in question all is back to normal.

Further to my e-mail yesterday I now see that e.g. the total sums under the heading “Investment performance” are wrong (much too high).
Apart from that everything I have looked at seems OK.

Which version of MD are you using? Help > about MD
Can you send me a screen shot illustrating the performance performance issue. I wonder if the old price issue is still being used to tabulate performance? Also could you send me a screen shot of your Quotes and exchange extension window.
Currently the securities are held in the base currency of your data file then converted if the investment account or security is of a different currency. This is what caused the issue in the budget report.
This has caused a few issuers and there is discussion to change this to allow the securities to be held in their own currency.

I am using MD 2017.1 (1592).
I haven't time just now to make screen shots or to do a systematic search of the problem. The only thing I can contribute at the moment is an observation from yesterday and this morning.
Yesterday I made some changes (moving cash och shares) to both the EUR and SEK investment accounts and then closed the file without looking at the total sum of investments.
This morning, when I opened the file, I saw that, in the sum of all investments accounts on the summary page, was completely wrong (all accounts were summed up as being in EUR, thus giving a much too high total, as 1 EUR is about 10 SEK).
Then I ran the "Quotes and Exchange Rates" extension, and suddenly the sum of all investments accounts were correct again.
Hope it given you some indication of were the problem is.

Same thing happened also this morning, although I didn't make any changes to my investments yesterday.
The sum of all investments accounts on the summary page was wrong, but was corrected the moment the currency rates were updated.
This problem only happens for me overnight. When I close and the open MD during the day, the problem doesn't occur.

Same problem here -- well kinda. Just recently my quotes went wild too. The amounts seem in my case to be a fraction of the proper price (about 60% -- so exchange rate was my immediate suspicious too).
I also just updated to 2017, but can't confirm that problem was concurrent. It seems likely, however.
I will post some screenshots. (Are screenshots private? Or do I need to obfuscate?)

Screenshot showing 'history' with correct prices, but current account value is wrong. (About $60 correct -- $34 is not correct).
The base currency for this instance is CAD -- this account is USD.

Are you syncing MD between multiple devise or saving your data file in dropbox or another 3rd party storage service?

No, I am not syncing between devices. I have MD only on my local PC running latest version of Windows 10.

There seem to be an inconsistency in the way MD translates secondary currencies into the base currency. I have noticed that some of my entries in SEK (my base currency is EUR) are wrongly translated into EUR by using the inverse exchange rate, e.g. SEK/EUR instead of EUR/SEK. I have not yet found any systematic trend that can help pinpoint the origin of the problem.
