iPhone
Hi guys!
I've been a Money Dance customer for few years now and I love it.
Why don't you make a version for the iPhone too so I can keep Money Dance in sinc with both my iPhone and computer?
Cheers,
Antonino

Antonino,
As the other thread states, we are waiting for approval from the US Government and then from Apple. We have finished the app (since mid January) and now are simply waiting for the approval process to complete.

Didn't I see somewhere a message that you received during the last couple of days the US Government approval ?
What is the current status ?

I am afraid I posted incorrect information with regard to gov approval.
The status of the ipod app according to the US gov website has changed to "Hold without Action." The site says this means- Hold Without Action (HWA) status indicates that the application has been placed on hold by the BIS reviewer.
Short version- the app is being held up by the gov't, and I don't think we yet have a timeline as to when it will be approved.
They have given us no further information. And so we wait.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer

I'm happy to report that the Moneydance iPhone app has now been submitted to Apple. It should be available for all (for free) very soon now!
Thanks,
Sean Reilly

Sweet! Now as soon as we can figure out why my connection to PNC Bank (see the thread in the Online banking requests forum) is not working, I can switch completely over to MD and finally get rid of Quicken!!

Now I have a good reason to buy an iPod Touch. THANK YOU!

This is where you download iPhone app for Moneydance, just in case anyone is looking:

I downloaded and installed it on my iPod Touch It synchronized fine the first time, but I can't get it to synchronize any more. Pretty much useless.
17 Posted by Ben Spencer on 31 May, 2010 06:11 PM
The app should sync every time you restart the iphone app if your desktop app is running and both devices are connected to the same network. If that isn't happening please try rebooting your iPod Touch it might be that one of the iPod Touch services has crashed.

Perhaps. I only turn the ipod on or off. I've never had to reboot for any application (other then when it did an OS upgrade) There should be someway to tell what is wrong.
19 Posted by Mike on 31 May, 2010 07:57 PM
@forslund. I simply launch MD on my Mac, then launch MD on my iPhone, and if I'm within range of my LAN (I'm always on the same subnet), my iPhone synchs MD every time. Are you on the same subnet and within range of your LAN?

I don't know for sure that rebooting will solve the problem but it may help us trac down the cause of the problem. It is possible to get iPhone apps to produce a crash report but since the app isn't crashing the problem may be caused by some other component of the iPhone operating system that the app is using.

Do the two of you who are emailing back and forth, know that you're
replying to EVERYONE who commented on this thread?
22 Posted by forslund on 31 May, 2010 08:51 PM
I launch MD on my Win machine and then launch it on the iPod Touch. They are both on the same LAN and subnet. It all worked just as advertised the first time. After than no more synching. I rebooted the phone, reinstalled MoneyDance on the iPod, and tried the syncing again. MoneyDance on my desktop says there is no device to sync with.
I'm replying on the web site. Everyone who is subscribed to this thread will get notification, I believe.

Forslund,
Since the topic of our discussion is a little out of the scope of the original thread I propose that you start a new thread regarding the problem syncing with your device. Just copying your last post into a new one would be sufficient.
Sincerely
Ben Spencer

Hey Forslund, on a win machine? That 's why you are having problems! lol

I have tested the iPhone app on a variety of windows versions and it has worked correctly.

See my responses on this "http://help.infinitekind.com/discussions/problems/1234-iphone-app-f... thread" The problem doesn't seem to be with Windows but with the iPod. MD is working fine on Windows, just not connecting from the iPod.
