reports
i would like to be able to write custom reports that do things that i want to... i am an ex-IT guy and currently write mostly in visual basic... i am not certain how to approach what i want to do... can you give me any guidance as to what i am getting myself involved in... resources that would be there more me to use etc... i guess a general primer... thanks in advance

There are two ways to write extensions, using Java or Python. I personally use Java.
I have written a number of extensions including a report utility.
Have a look at https://bitbucket.org/mikerb/moneydance-2015/wiki/Moneydance%20Information
If you make the effort to write an extension the utility will help you write reports.
