Hi Jalan,
Thank you for reporting the issue, our developers are currently daily making changes due to the approaching release of the public version of Moneydance 2019, would it be possible for you to update your version to 2019.0 (1822).
https://infinitekind.com/preview
There will be more updates coming.
If you are using the preview version with your primary data set, I would rather advise you to use the latest public version 2017.10 from here:
https://infinitekind.com/downloads
until the release of the 2019 public version.

Hi Jeff,
In line with our thread elsewhere, just updating this issue for the benefit of others.
This is an issue with Money Foresight itself. It is using part of the Java runtime that is no longer included in the newer version of Java that Moneydance 2019 is using. I've updated Money Foresight so that it doesn't need that bit any more.
It is fixed in v50, which I have not officially released yet. Just waiting to see what other issues surface with MD 2019. Anyone who is feeling bold can install an unofficial build of v50 which is attached to this ticket...

Hi Kevin S.
Hmm, I'm not able to recreate the issue reported by the OP using Money Foresight v.49 in the following environment:
Starting Moneydance 2019.0 (1826) at Tue Dec 25 13:57:22 EST 2018
Settings Folder: C:\Users\Kevin.moneydance
OS: Windows 10 10.0 amd64
Java: 11.0.1 (Oracle Corporation)
Is in sandbox: false; restricted file access: false
name and version =CSV Importer 22 for MD2015=
initialized extension mdcsvimporter in 0.0 seconds
initialized extension moneyforesight in 0.297 seconds
I've opened both Money Foresight Forecast and Money Foresight Review. Clicked through the menus - no problem. The Summary Page widget also works as expected.

Are you positive that what you have open is actually the 2019 beta? I found that, after installing the 2019 beta, the 2017 version was still installed and my Taskbar shortcuts were still opening the 2017 version even after installing the 2019 version. It took me several uses to figure out that I was back in the 2017 version. It was very confusing and I still don't know that I understand what was happening. It seem like the 2019 version might be a Windows 10 "app" rather than a conventional Windows executable application. If this is the case I hope the production version handles the uninstall of the 2017 version or a lot of users are going to be confused.

Hi Jeff,
I posted my environment from the first several lines of the MD console window so it is absolutely MD 2019.
I uninstalled MD 2017 prior to installing the appx version of Moneydance so again, it's MD 2019 that I'm using.
The .exe version and the appx version install to different locations. MD 2017 shortcuts will not work with MD 2019 (as you've discovered) It is necessary to uninstall MD 2017 when using the appx version.

I had the same issue as Jeff even though I have a similar environment as Kevin - Win 10 Pro 64 1809 version (October Update) - amd based PC. I can confirm that Money Foresight ver 50 eliminates the "error loading exception" problem.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the feedback. There was another use who also didn't see this problem, so it looks to be dependent on some condition that I haven't figured out.
In any case, the fix in v50 should be fine for this particular issue. I'm just waiting to see if any other issues pop up prior to MD 2019 being released.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi Kevin S,
I can confirm that v.50 loads and operates as expected without error but then again, so did v.49. :)
V.50 does not seem to adhere to the new 'Dark Mode' theme. The background stays white - even after a MD restart.
There seems to be an ongoing small niggle wherein the Summary Page widget will draw erroneous lines when MD is first started, requiring the user to click the 'gear' icon, then click 'Apply' or 'OK' so as to have the lines redrawn accurately.

Hi Kevin,
Is that summary page issue only a problem with MF on MD 2019 and not on MD 2017? I had another user report the same problem but he said it went away with build 1824 of MD. I notice you're on 1826, so I'm guessing it hasn't gone away completely.
https://bitbucket.org/mahanaroad/moneyforesight/issues/120/summary-...
I think I'll have to start running MD2019 by default to see if I can reproduce the issue.

Hi Kevin S,
The issue with the Summary Page widget was present in MD 2017 and is as well in MD 2019.
I'm also using the appx version of MD 2019.
I've attached a screenshot of the widget against the MF window to show the issue. (Look to the very left side for the discrepancy in the line drawings).
I've also attached the errorlog but I don't see anything in there that sheds any light.
Today when I first opened MD, the lines were drawn correctly. When I reopened MD the issue was present again so it's random which makes it easier to track down :\
TBH, I've gotten used to just clicking the gear and OK, so unless it becomes more prevalent, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

Would it just make more sense for me to reinstall the older version that worked?
12 Posted by Kevin Stembridg... on 01 Feb, 2019 07:42 AM
Hi Carl,
Do you mean the older version of Money Foresight or of Moneydance? You should find that the latest versions of each are now playing nicely together and no further issues have been reported.
If you find that it is limited to a one month forecast after updating, drop me a note at [email blocked]
Hope this helps,
Kevin

Kevin,
I installed the latest version of MoneyDance (2019 I believe) on January
30th, after receiving a notice several times upon opening the program a
new version was available. At that point the Money Foresight extension
gave the Java error that began the discussion that I commented on.
After I looked again and realized it was an old discussion, I concluded
that the issue was unresolved. I re-installed the 2017 version and the
moneyforesight45.mxt extension resumed working.

ok, good to know. Thanks.

Kevin,
Is there any compelling reason for me to continue to attempt a
functioning installation of 2019 ?

Hi Carl,
From a Money Foresight point of view there's no need to upgrade to Moneydance 2019. All the current features in Money Foresight will work on the earlier version of Moneydance. That might change if there are new capabilities added to Moneydance.
If you're wondering what MD 2019 has to offer irrespective of Money Foresight, take a look at this blog post by Sean.

Kevin,
Thanks for your input! I must say I do enjoy the software more than ANY
other finance software I have had.
Thanks again
Carl
