I have used Moneydance on Linux for many years now. I also use StockMarketEye to track my Stock Portfolio. Unfortunately, I finally gave up after many efforts to make MoneyDance perform all the 'bells & whistles' that StockMarketEye is capable of performing. Problem is the data export from Moneydance into csv and proper import into StockMarketEye and final reconciliation is not trivial and is done comepletely manually.
I actually don't think the approach would be to try to 'enhance' either product to replicate features of the other. Let each do what they're best at, but they're should be some type of easy access to a common dataset or equivalent transfer mechanism. I would be willing to write such code if I could get cooperation from all parties. Question is, would there be any interest in such an effort?

Bernie Nicktag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/479225122019-12-16T11:22:15Z2019-12-16T11:22:15ZStockMarketEye

Hi Bernie,

That sounds like an interesting and worthwhile project. With a Moneydance extension or even just an embedded python script you could easily export or import whatever data you like. I'd be happy to help advise on how to use our API to do it.

Thanks,

I guess that's it. I could probably write the code without too much
problem. The question is what's the best design with future development
in mind? This really comes down to analyzing the existing dataset and
its structure to determine how best to facilitate an efficient data conduit.

Ideally, changes made to the Moneydance dataset would 'flow' through to
the StockMarketEye dataset automatically or through some daily update
mechanism.

I don't wish to rush into coding before laying out an acceptable design.
