QuoteLoader - How do I log prices automatically for the Australian Stock Exchange
Hi I am now using Quote Loader to load my stock prices. I have set it to AutoRun on startup and it is loading prices fine. I have set the source to be FT which does great for all UK based stocks. I am trying to download the price for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA.AX) which is on the Australian Stock Exchange but when I use any of the sources (FT, FT HD, Yahoo, Yahoo HD), then none of them give the correct price in Australian Dollars or converted to my base currency.
i was wondering if there is a way of enabling an auto update to this type of stock in the system. At present I have set the Source to Do not Load and manually add the price each day.,
Thanks for all advice
Rich

Hi again Rich.
As explained in my reply to your question at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/5169-quo...
FT HD does not support historical data for Equities, only ETFs, nor does it support historial Exchange Rates.
The screen shot shows the set up for Commonwealth Bank of Australia.
As this is traded in Australian Dollars Quote Loader needs to know the exchange rate AUD/GBP.
You must ensure this exchange rate is displayed on the summary page before it will be listed in Quote loader when the PROCESS CURRENCY box is ticked. See step 2 page 3 of the PDF.
You must also follow the process on page 5 of the PDF to ensure the correct exchange rate is use for the currency conversion.
In the test data set I have set the currency for the Security to BRITISH POUNDS. Note in the screen shot the TRADED CURRENCY is AUD at 72.73 and converted to Pounds in the NEW PRICE field using the AUD exchange rate.
If I had set the security currency as Australian Dollar then the NEW PRICE field would have remained in AUD and the exchange rate used to convert the security price to GBP in other areas of Moneydance such as reports.
All explained in the PDF.
Hope this helps.

Hi Derek
You are a super hero. You may only be a "User not Support staff", but you really should work for the company. Your answers are spot on, concise easy to follow and the greatest thing .. they work. Thank you for all your help. Its perfect - exactly what I was hoping for and better still saves me running it every day. I am now uninstalling the other extension Quotes and Exchange Rates as Quotes Loader is perfect for my needs.
Thanks again Derek.
