locking entries

Recently I had a mismatch on my reconciliation and it took me a week to find it, I had to download the whole years bank statements.
I found that I had accidently deleted a cleared entry.
Would it be possible on later releases to provide a 'locking' option on cleared entries please?

This is certainly an interesting feature, and one that I can see being helpful to some of our users (myself included). I have created a ticket for this issue. The ticket is attached to this discussion. By posting in this discussion your interest in the ticket has been registered. This is equivalent to voting for it. Hi Angie
i just jumped into Moneydance (after 10 years in ALL other money management apps :)
and one of the few features i really miss is a lock entry / account
so, here is my real big +1 for this feature!

This is a feature that has been requested by our accountant, as he is unhappy that the administrator can change past records.
The accountant is requesting a shift to sage. which has this feature "Lock Date - Is another handy tool that prevents us from making those frustrating mistakes. By locking your accounts, it prevents you from posting payments before a certain date, and if you try to do so, a warning sign will appear to let you know you are doing something wrong.

I like MD and think sage would be too much and too complex for our small charity.
