IFX import
My financial institution here in Austria offers download of transactions in a new “IFX” XML format. Is anyone familiar with this? Is it at all related to OFX?
It would be nice to be able to write a simply extension just for importing an arbitrary XML format based on DTD or schema without having to also create any UI for it.

There is a relationship between IFX and OFX. There is some possibility that IFX will become the replacement to OFX and it looks like that possibility is in considerable doubt. The specification has been in the works for over 10 years and you are the first user I have heard of who has actually seen an IFX file in the wild. I will create a suggestion ticket in our issue tracking system to implement support for this format and unless it becomes more widespread I think it is unlikely we will implement it in the near term.

Thanks for the reply. For what it’s worth, the institution is Bank Austria. They offer CSV and IFX download, and the DTD is available from their site.
I think my course of action for now will be to try to develop an XSLT transform from IFX to OFX.

One more thing: can you tell me which version(s) of OFX Moneydance supports? I'm using the most current v2.1.1 schemas to build my transform (if you only support the old SGML-based versions I'm obviously screwed).

Hi Greg,
I believe we currently support the OFX 2.0.3 spec, which is a subset of the 2.1.1 spec.

FYI, there is an open-source IFX Framework.
