Has anyone else had problem with Quote Loader

Today, when I did my daily check of Quote Loader for fetching prices, it fails to obtain any quotes. I tried it manually, and then stop/started MD. That also reported that none were updated. Did Yahoo finally stop providing prices?

Using MD 2019.3 (1880) under LINUX (Manjaro).

   I'm having the same thing today (Dec. 16, 2022) I changed the source to FT and received quotes, but the quote for one security (VOD) had the period in the wrong place. Should be 10.18, but came out as 1.018.
   The FT HD, Yahoo and Yahoo HD all failed. The plain FT worked except for the mentioned error.

   Same for me (12/16/22), no quotes using Yahoo or Yahoo HD or FT HD. Plain FT loaded all 45 quotes and currencies except one, but found there are major errors on most mutual fund final values and had to re enter them all manually once I checked the values from the broker site. Major hassle now. What's the deal with Yahoo??

   I'm getting a mix. I have 6 share prices, 2 indices and 2 currencies. Two of the shares fail,, as do the indices...

   The problem is being looked at, it seems like Yahoo is doing a random popup which is causing problems.

   Yahoo have also changed the structure of there data which Mike the developer of QL is looking at, but it may take some time to work out.

   Quotes and Exchange Rates extension has the same problem.

   Hi flv

   To get VOD to work as you are looking for a quote in US Dollars from a US stock exchange not from the London stock exchange in British Pounds you need to set the Exch Mod to NASDAQ GLO See screen shot.

   Hi

   Often Securities using the same ticker are quoted on a number of exchanges in different counties and hence in different currencies.

   Yahoo tends to default to US exchanges, FT to the London Stock exchange, if the ticker is used in different counties. To get the result you are looking for some times you need to change the Exch Mod setting.

   If you still have problem I may be able to help. Post the ticker you are using, the full security name and the last price you have with its date.

   I'm having a problem getting the SPY (S&P 500 index ETF) that trades on the NASDAQ quoting the correct price using FT. See screen shot.

    SPY appears to be the ticker for more than one security. FT needs the ticker to be defined further. Instead of just SPY it needs SPY:PCQ:USD
    See screen shot.

    My problem tickers were GOOG, MDB, TEAM, and TTD.

    GOOG and TEAM were fixed by setting the Exch Mod to NASDAQ GLO, as Derek had detailed previously. Incidentally, according to finance.yahoo.com, both of these tickers are listed on "NasdaqGS".

    MDB and TTD, according to finance.yahoo.com, are listed on the "NasdaqGM" exchange, and these are still not loading, even with Exch Mod set to NASDAQ GLO. I've played around with NASDAQ and other exchanges, but none are working.

    I'm sure other users will chime in with more problematic tickers.

    I thank you for all you're doing to address this, it is appreciated. We all need to be patient. It seems the "powers that be" are intent on breaking Moneydance. A few weeks ago, it was Chase, now this ...

    If I have made the correct guess the ticker MDB is for MongoDB Inc and TTD for Trade Desk Inc.
    If I have got these wrong please post the securities full name and last price.

    At first sight it looks like the stock exchange where these securities are traded is not listed under Exch Mod

    This exchange is NASDAQ Stock Market Exchange Consolidated Large Cap symbol NMQ

    Until the exchange can be added to the list in Quote Loader change the ticker from MDB to MDB:NMQ and TDD to TTD:NMQ as in screen shot.

    NASDAQ Stock Market Exchange Consolidated Large Cap did not come up as an exchange when the list was created, it does not even sound like an exchange to be honest, it sounds more like a fund.

    With Yahoo it will not matter as a U.S. based organisation it takes all stocks without an exchange qualifier to be U.S. based. FT on other other hand being based in London takes those without an exchange qualifier to be U.K. based so will often require non U.K. stocks to have an exchange qualifier, especially if it is a duplicate Ticker. Tickers are only guaranteed to be unique within an exchange not global, although it would not surprise me if Tickers may tend to be unique within a country.

    I've got about 100 stocks that I've now modified to work with FT (used to be Yahoo HD). But I've got 3 preferred stocks that I can't seem to get working. Looking for assistance.

    ATH PR C - Athene Holding Ltd on the NYSE
    RITM PR B and RITM PR C - both are Rithm Capital Corp on the NYSE

    I must ask, where are you able to look up the ":NMQ", or the ":PCQ" in the SPY example above? I'd gladly do this myself and not bother you further.

    Try setting the Exch Mod to NYCON as screen shot.

    Son of a gun, that works, sort of. At least it does successfully pull down the quote as your screenshot shows. But when I try the "test" menu item it doesn't say successful. Matter of fact it doesn't failure either. The "test" menu simply disappears.
    But it does work to pull down the quote so that's all that really matters, thanks.

    The basic are described on page 6 of my PDF Quote Loader Extension by Mike Bray Moneydance 2019 to 2022 V9.7 to be found attached to post 259 at https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/investments/4914-the...

    I look for the exchange extension on the FT web page for the subject security. Then if I am not sure which exchange this code represents to select the Exch Mod I click on this link https://bitbucket.org/mikerb/moneydance-2019/wiki/Quote%20Loader%20... to list documented by Mike Bray the Quote Loader developer.

    I can then check to see it the code then works once selected in Exch Mod.

    How strange, I seems to be a bug related to the Exch Mod NYCON

    I tested some other Exch Mods and they work.

    Will investigate further and report the issue to Mike once he has got out from the Yahoo issue.

    Anyone figure out how to get gold and silver bullion quotes from FT?

    On Yahoo I had been using:
    GC=F for gold
    SI=F for silver

    No idea why those had ever worked but they certainly don't work with FT.

    Unfortunately FT does not support gold or silver prices.
    To use Yahoo again in Quite Loader you will need to wait for the new build which is under test.

    Today 21Dec22, at 5:45PM PST, FT reports yesterday's mutual fund prices through FT instead of today's prices, after working perfectly since I switched from Yahoo as recommended by Derek Kent. Perhaps they are just delayed for some reason, so I'll try again in several hours..

    We are pleased to inform you that a new build of the Quote Loader has been made available, as outlined here.

    You should navigate to Extensions->Manage Extensions and scroll down to Quote Loader. The latest build is v.3053. After installing the update, please restart Moneydance.

    Additionally, in this new version a source of Yahoo does not find the last trade date. It defaults to the date you run the Quote Loader. If you use Yahoo HD as a source the correct date is found.

    A few issues have been found:

    1. If your base currency is USD a source of Yahoo HD does not load currency rates, a source of Yahoo does

    2. If your base currency is USD the sources FT and FT HD do not work for currency rates.

    Mike Bray (the Quote Loader developer) confirmed that these problems will be addressed in the New Year.

    I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.
