E*Trade Banking Setup
Was using Moneydance 2011 for Mac until last week and recently upgraded to Moneydance 2015. My E*Trade Bank account will not allow set up of Online Banking (it worked with 2011). After Logon ID is entered and window asks which account do you want to set up, it is blank (screen shot attached). I have an E*Trade Brokerage account and it set up just fine. I downloaded Build 1225 for 2015 but have also tried using Build 1298 this morning still with no luck. Thanks, Greg

Hi Greg,
Occasionally even after updating to a post 1225 preview build the connection needs to be recreated. Could you give that a shot? You will need to disable your current connection to your bank and then recreate it using the New Connection button on the Online Banking Setup screen. To do so, you can follow these steps:
Make sure you pick new connection, even though your bank is still one of the connection choices after you disable it. Choosing your bank from the list of available banks will force Moneydance to download the updated information, which should then allow you to connect.
Please let me know if you continue to have connection problems after recreating your connection.
Thanks!

David, when I select Setup Online Banking for that account I do not get the "Disable" button since it is not set up in the first place for that account. It has not let me. I have used the New Connection button to attempt online set up for this account but I get the same thing. The Disable button does show up in my eTrade Brokerage account but not the eTrade Savings. Hi Greg,
ETrade only supports direct connection with their brokerage accounts and not wit their regular banking accounts. This means that the best way to get your transactions into Moneydance is to use a web browser to download them from your bank's web site. You can download into QFX, QIF, OFX or OFC files (sometimes referred to as Quicken or MS Money files), any of which will import cleanly into Moneydance. You can also open your bank's download page directly (after entering the appropriate address in the Account->Edit Account menu) by going to the menu bar and selecting Online->Open Account Website.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thank you for your interest in Moneydance.

Same problem here with Etrade checking. I get to the same screen posted above and unable to select "online Banking" or anything from the dropdown and the "next" button will not click. This is a brand new install.

Hi Tom,
Unfortunately E*Trade only supports direct connections with their brokerage accounts and not with their regular banking accounts, such as your E*Trade checking out. The checking account IS a regular banking account, not a brokerage account.

Hi Tom,
I'll rephrase, E*Trade does not support OFX direct connections for standard banking accounts. E*Trade only offers OFX direct connections for brokerage accounts. This unfortunately means that there is no way to automatically download your transaction history from E*Trade.
The best way to get your transactions into Moneydance is to download QFX,QIF, OFX, or OFC files from E*Trades website.
