It says there was an error with online ID/PIN or Password. I have been using the system for a few years and have rechecked password and entered it several times to no avail.

Now (17 March 2017) it's not a login error but something about the connection. Getting this error: There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.

Bank Name: Regions Bank
Account: x
Account Number: x

A communication or parsing error occurred. This could be the result of a network problem, a proxy error, or misconfigured server.
Error Description: javax.net.ssl.SSLProtocolException: Connection reset

leophillipstag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/463468312018-10-25T08:35:33Z2018-10-25T08:35:33ZRegions Bank Issues downloading transactions

Hi,

Sorry to hear of the issue you have encountered while using Moneydance. Can you let me know the version of Moneydance you are using? You can check this within Moneydance by navigating to Help --> About Moneydance.

Could you also send me the contents of your error console after attempting a connection? This should hopefully shed some further light on the situation. Here's how to get the logs:

1) In Moneydance, click on the Help menu and select the Console Window option. This will open the console messages window.
2) While the Console Window is open, attempt to connect to your bank. Any error messages should be recorded to the Console.
3) Select all of the text in the Console and use the "Copy to Clipboard" button at the bottom to copy the text.
4) Paste the text from the message window into a text file (preferably saved with a .txt extension) and attach that file to your response here.

The debugging logs that this produces will contain your account information. I've made sure that this conversation is private, so the info won't be broadcast to the world, but just to be safe you should redact any account info in the debug logs. Just replace it with something like "ACCOUNT NUMBER HERE" and it should be fine.

Also attached is the console window contents for the attempted
connection to Regions.

Please let me know if you need anything else to trouble shoot this issue.

Thanks for sending through your logs. It looks like Moneydance is trying to connect to the correct server at your bank but the credentials are being rejected at the bank's end.

Can you try setting up a blank data set in Moneydance via File --> New and see if you are able to establish a connection here? This would help us identify if there is an issue within your data set or something going amiss on your banks servers. You can then navigate between data sets via File --> Open.

while. : )

I tried creating a new file and then establishing a new profile from
"Set up online Banking". I got pretty much the same error. When it got to the point of "Retrieving Financial Institution Profile" it gave the
error about login ID and PIN/Password. See attached console file.

Can you try upgrading to the latest preview release of Moneydance to see if this allows you to connect? You can download the preview version from here.

If this behaviour persists in the preview version, please let me know and we will investigate further.

discussion threads. I tried it and it DOES solve the problem.

Thanks again.

BUT, as of 0900 CDT I am successful in downloading. I don't know if you guys here did something or if Regions found a problem but it works now! I wonder if you IK people should not look into whether some contractor to Regions Bank is trying to push people to use Quicken but throwing in a problem every few months? It is getting old to have this problem recur periodically. Thanks for fixing this if y'all did.

leophillips
