I'm a Chase Visa client. Moneydance can connect to Chase via direct-connect.

Did you authorize your account(s) at Chase for desktop apps on the Chase website?

The option to do so is rather hidden. If you need a hand finding it, let me know and I'll walk you through it.

Assuming that the Chase banking website is constructed the same as the Chase Visa website, here's the way to authorize your accounts for desktop apps.

Log on to the Chase website.
Click on the head-and-torso icon in the upper right-hand corner.
Select 'More Settings'.
From the list that appears on the left side of the resulting webpage, scroll down to 'Desktop apps'.
I'm not 100% sure of what happens after you click on 'Desktop apps' because my account is already authorized but I'm sure it's self-explanatory.

After you've authorized your account, try to connect using Moneydance. You may or may not get another email requesting that you confirm your identity.

After that, you should have no problem connecting.

Try this...

Open Moneydance to the Chase account in question.
From the MD menu bar, go to Online > Set Up Online Banking.
In the resulting form, click on the 'Reset Sync' button.
Doing so will instruct Moneydance to download any and all available data on their OFX server for that account.

Thanks to your instructions I was able to download Chase today. I never EVER would have figured out to click the head-and-shoulders icon to fix this. The notice from Chase never mentions this.
No way.

Dannytag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/463631872018-12-28T16:52:15Z2018-12-28T16:52:15ZChase bank

Hi Danny,

Although I'm not a Chase Banking client, it was my understanding that the $9.95 fee was only charged to Business accounts - Individual accounts were exempt.

As a Chase Visa client, I have not (yet) been informed of any impending charge for direct-connect service.

Chase does provide the file formats needed for manual downloads and importing into Moneydance.

My account is a business checking account. That stinks. Darn you Chase!!

Danny
