After reaching out to the bank they said that only Express Web connections work whereas Moneydance apparently uses Direct Connect. Is there a way to make an Express Web connection or will Moneydance not be an option for me?

Dawn Frawleytag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/464628912018-11-08T04:39:40Z2018-11-08T04:39:40ZSchools First Credit Union

I'm a fellow user.

Express Web Connect and Web Connect were both developed by Quicken and are owned by them, they are not available for other vendors to freely use. So your bank is effectively telling you for automated downloads of data you must use Quicken or a product licensed by them, a some what restrictive practice in my view and no bank is going to tell me what product to use.

The banks generally do provide the ability to download transactions from their Internet banking sites in formats like QFX, QFX, QIF etc and Moneydance is able to import these, so that is the approach to take with banks that do not support open protocols short of moving accounts to a bank that does support them.

dwg
