There's an existing ticket in our ticketing system for this, so
I've attached it to this discussion and the developers will be
looking into it. We can let you know of any progress on this.

institutions don't pass the check number in the correct field
(CHECKNUM) instead they pass the check number in the MEMO field as
"Check # 12345" (I'm looking at you Wells Fargo).

winlogantag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/381461342016-02-20T20:31:27Z2017-03-12T18:59:48ZConfirm downloaded transactions using check number

This is a serious regression. I just upgraded from MD 2010 and was surprised to see no longer matching by check number. How can I differentiate multiple checks written on the same day? I have 4 kids and write 4 school lunch checks on the same day for the same amount. Matching is impossible now.

Paul Millstag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/381461342016-02-21T15:52:21Z2016-06-14T15:56:37ZConfirm downloaded transactions using check number

But I have not changed my financial institution. All that has
changed is I upgraded Moneydance. My previous version of Moneydance
did in fact show the check number

richm81tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/381461342016-02-21T16:26:16Z2016-02-21T16:26:16ZConfirm downloaded transactions using check number

I'm new to Moneydance, I just figured they favored Direct
Connect over Web Connect. The whole matching thing is fraught with
problems, it makes sense not to encourage people to use it. The
only good thing I can say about Quicken is that they are better at
handling matching on Web Connect, but they also have problems and
they also encourage people to use Direct Connect instead of Web
Connect. There is an open issue, perhaps MD 2017 will fix this.

winlogan
