My new HSA will only let me download data in CSV format. I'm having difficulty importing that into Moneydance on my Mac. Any suggestions?

    Hi John,

Can you post a small sample of your CSV file?

I would need to see at least one payment transaction and one deposit transaction to see how they are formatted and if they are designated to separate columns.

Include the header row (if any)

Keep in mind that these are public forums. Make sure that there is no sensitive information in your CSV before posting it.

OK. No payments yet, so I will wait until I have one and then send a file.
    Many thanks,
    John

    just a user,

I had problems recently and I resolved it by trimming down the CSV file for only the fields I was importing. Seems like excess fields caused problems even if you chose to ignore them during the process.

Hi. If you use this importer:
    https://github.com/stant/mdcsvimporter2015

it only lets you import 10 fields, but when you ignore a field you can tell it how many to ignore each time so you can do for example:
date, ignore 3, desc, ignore 10, memo, ignore, -payment-, ignore-rest (to end of line)
