Before purchasing the software, I want to make sure I can automatically download transactions from my checking account at Tangerine. It's just not happening for me.

I created a checking account and set up online banking. I did a bit of Googling which helped me figure out to use the Client # for the username. MD showed me my complete list of accounts at Tangerine (and I chose the checking account), so MD was able to establish a connection and my credentials are correct. However, no transactions are downloaded. I just always get the "Downloaded zero new transactions for Checking" message in the status bar and the balance is still shown as zero. That doesn't seem right.

In another thread, I read about using the Console so I took a look through the log created when I run "Download Checking Transactions". There were indeed no transactions sent, but the balance was. The other strange thing is that the account type is shown as savings rather than checking. The only other things of interest are error messages at the beginning and at the end:

Can you access their website and download manually?

mhoggietag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469396252019-02-09T21:37:53Z2019-02-09T21:37:55ZTangerine "Downloaded zero new transactions for Checking"

I can. It also shows no transactions. I did manually download the day before when I was fighting with Quicken. I guess there are no new transactions yet. I just tried connecting my other Tangerine account, which I haven't touched in a while and sure enough the transactions were downloaded.

It was the zero balance, and the errors in the log, that threw me. It also didn't help that I talked to a Tangerine rep this morning to ask if I needed to have Direct Connect enabled, and she had no clue about Quicken or Direct Connect or OFX. I just assumed it wasn't working. But now that I see some transactions, I see that the balance is calculated from the downloaded entries, it isn't the actual balance of the account. I will have to fix the initial value setting.

Note to other Tangerine users: Direct Connect is enabled by default. You don't need to call.

Thanks for the response. It did help.

sev
