There has been a specific article posted about connecting to TD Bank:

http://help.infinitekind.com/kb/online-banking-and-bill-pay/connect...

dwgtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-16T20:23:30Z2019-02-16T20:26:26ZTD Bank Direct Connect

So you’re saying TD Bank Direct Connect works now? Does that include Bill Pay direct from Moneydance?

It’s confusing because others reports still having no luck. And Infinite Kind has not updated earlier discussion threads with a statement that the problem is now solved. Nor AFAIK did the MD 2019 release notes mention a TD Bank Direct Connect fix.

I’d be opening new TD Bank accounts, so it’d be useful to know for sure if Direct Connect downloads and bill pay work before I go to all that effort.

I hope Infinite Kind will officially state whether or not Direct Connect downloads and bill pay are now working with Moneydance 2019.

Thanks,
Bill

Billtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-18T21:10:26Z2019-02-18T21:10:26ZTD Bank Direct Connect

Bill,

Direct connect with TD Bank now works. Just follow the instructions in the knowledgebase article. I can confirm since I worked with Sean and helped him find the source of the problem and resolve it.

Robert

zrobtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-21T13:43:45Z2019-02-21T13:43:46ZTD Bank Direct Connect

I followed the knowledgebase article and didn't get past the first step. I called the TD Bank number provided and got an extremely helpful agent. I told him that I wanted to enable "Direct Connect services for Quicken 2018 for Windows." He said that he could not find my Quicken 2018 for Windows userID. I told him that I really wasn't a Quicken user but I only wanted to enable the direct connect services. He said that if I don't have a Quicken account he could not enable direct connect services. I am guessing to get a Quicken account I need to purchase Quicken, which is exactly why I went to MoneyDance. I hope someone has a suggestion as to how to get this service enabled at TD Bank without a Quicken account.

Michaeltag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-22T17:32:54Z2019-02-22T17:34:54ZTD Bank Direct Connect

Michael,
I can confirm that Direct Connect works. You don't need Quicken, no need to change password, no need to contact anyone. I think that the first attempt fails. TD sees this. There should be a message waiting for you at TD's web site about a device attempting to access your account (Account Options, Account Services, Manage Financial Tool Access). Allow it. Now try again in Moneydance to setup your account.
I haven't yet upgraded to Moneydance 2019.

the_ronz_08753tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-22T17:44:40Z2019-02-22T17:45:33ZTD Bank Direct Connect

Michael,

Ronz nailed it. That is exactly how you enable direct connect to TD Bank. No need to purchase Quicken nor to obtain a "Quicken Account". Just do what Ronz said (and what's in the article) and it will work.

I can't speak for bill pay since I don't use the feature. Direct Connect for downloading transactions definitely works.

Robert

zrobtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-22T18:00:46Z2019-02-22T18:00:48ZTD Bank Direct Connect

Can anyone confirm if Direct Connect Bill Pay does work currently with TD Bank?

Thanks.

Billtag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-22T18:02:48Z2019-02-22T18:02:48ZTD Bank Direct Connect

When I call TD Bank they have a stand alone program that connects them to fQuicken. Both times I called the rep said I cannot see you have a quicken account. I confessed and said that I just need the direct connect set up that I am not really using quicken. Both the guy and gal said that if they cannot see me in quicken they cannot turn on direct connect unless the program (Money Dance) goes through quicken.

I have a quicken account which is my email account and the lady at the bank said that in their stand alone program you cannot enter any special characters so when she puts in the @ sign she gets and error message. I tried to set up an account with quicken using a userID with no numbers or characters and it says to enter an email account which will be your userID.

So I don’t know how you or Ronz got TDBank to set you up.

mIchael snydertag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-22T18:06:58Z2019-02-22T18:06:59ZTD Bank Direct Connect

OK I will try this. I tried to follow the steps outlined in the Knowlegebase which said call TDBank, which I did. 1. clicked on my checking account
2. Clicked on Online->Set Up Online Banking
3. Clicked on New Connection
4. Selected TD Bank Online Banking (got popup message saying Retrieving financial institution profile and my account name popped up)
5. Clicked on Next
6. Entered my Password and clicked OK
7 Got an Online Banking Setup dialog box that had check boxes next to Online Banking and Bill Payment but I cannot click on any check box nor is any info in the account
Text box nor will it allow me to type anything in it

I went to the TDBank site and checked and it says “You currently have no financial management software requesting access to TD Bank.

I think I am getting closer but I still cannot get MD to connect.

I can't picture now when it happened, but I got an error code 2000 or 2003. Your problem seems to be that you didn't get an error code. After getting the error, I went to the web site and saw that a Quicken 2018 device wants to access my account. The only thing that I can add that might help is that my operating system is Linux (Debian Buster), and my web browser is Firefox Quantum 60.5.0esr.
Again, I am using Moneydance 2017. I'll try 2019 tomorrow.

the_ronz_08753tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-23T13:33:30Z2019-02-23T13:33:31ZTD Bank Direct Connect

And I am running Win10 using Edge

I immediately received an error code 2000. I am in demo mode and am not qualified for a free upgrade. Is this my problem?

I created a new connection and got pretty much the same results as Michael, except for step 7. The account selection was not dimmed, and checkboxes were clickable. Finishing up, it appeared that banking setup might have completed successfully despite the error code. I tried to download transactions again and got the 2000 error code again.

Is there a message waiting for me at TD's web site? I went to account services and the site is temporarily out of service. Was this just bad timing on my part, or is the service temporarily unavailable only for me?

UPDATE: 7:30 pm est
My wife received an email message yesterday that most of TD's web site will be down for the weekend. Where's my email message? I now have an answer to my questions - bad timing.

the_ronz_08753tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-25T03:29:09Z2019-02-25T18:01:00ZTD Bank Direct Connect

As of Sunday night, TD's web site is up and running. I am now able to download transactions again with Moneydance 2017, and I didn't have to do anything to fix my problem. It's going to be about 2 weeks for I try 2019 again. I have to start doing income tax forms next weekend.
Michael - Your problem with step 7 tells me that Moneydance doesn't know what accounts are available. Maybe the Windows version has a bug that the Linux version doesn't have. Username & password - use the words used to login on the web site. I don't know what all this talk is about a Quicken account or a second password. Maybe it's needed for bill pay. I'm going to look into this in 2 weeks. Tor & anonymous proxy services - Don't expect to easily connect to your bank when you are hiding your identity. Of course, you need these services when using a public router. Only do banking at home. Finally, I think that Moneydance has to fail on the first attempt, and you need to go to the web site to personally allow the device.
I don't know what else to say. Good luck to you all.

P.S. I'm having second thoughts this morning about my Quicken account comments. I did use Quicken at one time, and I remember switching to TD because Wachovia wanted to charge a monthly fee. This was about 10 years ago and I don't remember the Quicken sign-up process. I going to revise my comment and say that if Moneydance worked for you in the past, then I see to no reason why it shouldn't work today.

P.S.S. I promise that this will be my last message. What about that Win10 network setting that security conscious users disable because Microsoft steals router passwords. This setting has something to do with device connections. It wouldn't surprise me that you can't connect because Microsoft doesn't know your password.

the_ronz_08753tag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-02-26T19:44:37Z2019-02-26T19:44:37ZTD Bank Direct Connect

I just tried again with no luck

Michael Snydertag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/469681352019-03-29T22:51:29Z2019-03-29T22:51:29ZTD Bank Direct Connect

To my surprise, I can now download from TD Bank. One problem, though. I have a primary checking account, but there are also some other accounts that I manage. Even though the Edit Account settings has the right account number for each account, if I try to download, it always gives me the transactions for the main checking account. In the past, I'd get a dialog box showing me the other accounts MD found at TD, allowing me to match to the one I want, but now I don't get that option. SO CLOSE to having the TD problem completely solved!

Tom
