Schwab did deep dive, says MD using OFX NOT API Channel, trying to turn something off that does not exist
After I threatened to leave Schwab, they did 'deep dive' with their technical staff. They swear they have many users using Plaid with MD, without issue. I am not technical, but they said MD is aware of issue. From what I could understand, MD trying to turn off something that is not 'on'. SchwabMD trying to connect using OFX not API. Schwab has enabled Plaid, Schwab using API NOT OFX protocol.
I have dealt with this too long. I even tried opening a fresh file in MD today and subscribing to Plaid separate, still got same result. Can someone please fix this. I hate to move everything I have to another financial institution due to a technical issue. Again, it appears my MD connection trying to do something with OFX and that is not necessary. Hopefully, this makes sense to someone at MD.
Thanks

Your help/console log will show if you are using OFX... So, restart MD, Help/Console. Keep console open.. Then try a Schwab connection. Then grab console output and upload here. We can review....

There is NO ofx connection stuff going on in your console log... Only md+

Thanks for checking that. After 2+ years of ‘finger-pointing’ between Plaid, Schwab, and MD, time to move on to another financial institution. I am resigned to the fact the only fix is to leave Schwab.
Thanks again for checking.
Unrelated: When I tried a ‘fresh’ MD and a ‘fresh’ trial version of Plaid, I noted that new Plaid customers are now charged $4 a month, I guess that means a 100% price increase on the way… lol

One - schwabs assertion about ofx, iif it was correct (and we’ve now verified it is not) might have been valid.
Schwabs assertion about md+ is not valid globally, as many md users including me, download every day.
So ultimately, something is wrong with your data file or md+ connection to schwab, or schwab doesn’t like your account connection. If I remember correctly, you simply get “cannot connect” through Md+
1) it isn’t Md fault, unless your database has some corruption. So there is nothing for Md to fix.
2) Md+ is possible but not very likely, as many connect to schwab through Md+
3) if you have your login/password wrong it might be your fault, but you seem meticulous there, though that might cause cannot connect,
4) schwab has your account tables and permissions set wrong for your account, rejecting your passwords or Md+ attempts to connect FORYOU, but since others work, you’re just a complainer.
I have no skin in the game, and hope I’ve describe all 4 sides (Md Md+ you schwab) without bias.
Unrelated, as a current longer term Md+ subscriber you are grandfathered in at $2 per month, so no soup price increase for you.
If you subscribed a second time in your testing, make sure you delete the new one, and keep the previous subscription.

You are also testing very well… many don’t know how to do this.
Verified not using ofx.
Verified it is not related to your data file or Md+ connection (new file/new Md+ signup) - ie you’ve rejoined as a new user…
Still cannot connect with valid username/passwords, even if “everyone else can”.
I won’t draw your own conclusion, but I think you’ve eliminated some of the “at fault” points.

I might be late to this, but I've had websites accept a password with special characters, but then I was unable to log in with that password, Removing special characters fixed it. It's a long shot, but maybe the password is okay on the website, but not through Plaid/MD+.

Good idea. I tried it, same result. Bottomline: Schwab
sucks. I have switched 99.9% of my holdings to Fidelity, works
with Schwab seamlessly. Again, Schwab I.T. dept. much to be desired.

David - I'm also moving some of my Schwab IRA to Fidelity IRA (diversification given I've also lost some trust in Schwab)...
I moved two stock holdings last week, and Fidelity suggests 5/31 - 6/5 as "finish date". Did you have similar timing?
(Yes, not totally Moneydance related, but it is financial related and how different banks/brokerages respond [just like NONE of them inform clients of changes].)
