Hi Alan,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
Schwab supports automatic downloads via Plaid. This is a premium service that requires a subscription. You can find more information here.
As your own a license key valid with Moneydance 2022 and 2023, you could subscribe at $4 monthly or $40 yearly.
If you prefer not to subscribe, you could opt for manual downloads. Please find the steps for manually importing your data in this article.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Hi Maddy,
Thank you for your note. We are no small customer of Schwab and yet they
treat their customers
like ganisters. So, for the time being I'm going to back off from Schwab and
they may loose an
important customer.
Alan

just a user - as another significant customer of Schwab, I agree with you as to how they treat their customers...
Going to only this thread, they discontinued OFX downloads with no notification to their customers. Moving to aggregators was for "security" according to them, but basically it was giving your data to other companies rather than to you.
Also, they gave no recourse even on their website. The only format you can manually download is CSV files (vs. OFX/QFX/or even QIF), and CSV is useless for investment accounts.
And that's just this subject! Schwab has gone downhill in the last ten years in almost all aspects, in my opinion.
I'm currently (like this month) opening an account or two at Fidelity, and moving some of my assets from Schwab for company diversification. I'm considering yet another company as well.
I am using Plaid/MD+ to download Schwab data, but don't like how Schwab is treating their customers overall - it's like customers are a commodity.

Hi Maddy,
Yes, it is very discouraging. We still have a house in Portola Valley where
we used to live and I'm
surprised I never crossed paths with Chuck as he lived very close to us. I
met many others thought!
One of my three carriers was in corporate finance and in my last couple of
years I worked directly
with the CEO of the company. As I dug more into the financial details, I
noticed an opportunity to
substantially increase our bottom line revenue. Ten percent of our products
generated 90 percent
of our revenue. We cut our product line in half and the cash flow increased
out of sight. The company
bought back all of its outstanding stock, bought a large office building on
Market St. in San Francisco
and have increased their business internationally. Three small paragraphs on
one sheet of paper
accomplished this.
It's very sad to see a company like Charles Schwab slowly deteriorate. When
companies don't take care
of their customers, their customers gravitate towards greener pastures. It
may take a while, but it
looks inevitable at this point.
Best regards,
Alan

So wait - my previous holdings in a TD Ameritrade brokerage account downloaded just fine in MD via Direct Connect, but since Charles Schwab acquired them and my TD Ameritrade account has been migrated to Schwab, you're saying that Direct Connect functionality has been removed and the only way to download via Online Banking is via MD+? If that is the case, I'll be switching brokers ASAP.

just a user
My impression is that TD Ameritrade is transitioning to Charles Schwab, but they are maintaining the direct connect concept AT THIS TIME.
So, (and I speak with no particular knowledge), direct connect (probably) still works for you, but I wouldn't bet on that being long term.
Let US know! That will help users/IK to tell everyone what is going on with this transition.
So, overall, I'm not hopeful you will keep direct connect for "a long time".

I've given up with both Schwab and Money Dance. Given our assets, it's a big
loss for both.
In the business world I learned a very long time ago that companies who do
not take care of
their customers, eventually end up going out of business. It's just a matter
of time.

just a user - Good luck in whatever you do. You've mentioned what Schwab did not do for you. May I ask what Moneydance did not do for you that caused you to reach that separate decision?

dtd, I confirmed Schwab does not currently support direct connect, and I do not wish to use an aggregator like MD+/Plaid, so I've moved my Schwab assets to E*Trade, and direct connect works like a champ.
Regarding Alan's statement about "giving up" on MD, I share the frustration in that IK does not always listen to their customers, even when multiple paying customers request the same fix. I've requested the simple ability to sort the order of account names in the sidebar over 13 years ago (reference ticket #3066), it has received multiple votes, but no action on IK's part other than to suggest a band-aid of adding ASCII characters to the front of account names to force them to sort in the order you choose - very frustrating. If there was another Mac PFS alternative out there that wasn't subscription based and offered the basic features I need, I'd drop MD in a heartbeat.

just a user - good points - you are not alone in your assertion.
"Toto? What's that? Don't pull back the curtain! Ignore the man behind the curtain! I am the great and powerful Wizard of OZ!" (Or IK, whatever...)
I think that's enough about my own opinion. I (and other users) do work more closely than you do with Sean/IK, and he does respond to us, but there are times we feel similar to your statement. [@Sean - don't throw down lightning bolts upon me!]
P.S. I'm moving some of my Schwab accounts to Fidelity - but I see the "we will be moving from direct connect to other more secure and better for you methodologies soon".... Sigh.

Thank you for your note, and yes you are correct. I clearly have more runway
left behind me, than what remains in front of me.
One of my three carers is aviation. In that world a decision that arrives
one minute late has a terminal outcome and ending.
Hence my decision to end my affiliation with Money Dance, albeit with
regrets.
Thank you for your note,
Alan
