Tuist OFX service down

// Please reply above this line From: Maddy (Support staff) Hi Patrick, Please could you let us know if you were able to link with Truist Bank using Moneydance +? This information would be useful to chase our escalation to Plaid support. Would you be able to send us the contents of your console log, from when you're trying to connect to Truist via Moneydance+? Here's how to get the logs: 1) In Moneydance, select Help > Console Window. This will open the console messages window. 2) While the Console Window is open, attempt to connect to your bank using Moneydance+. 3) Select all of the text in the Console and use the "Copy to Clipboard" button at the bottom to copy the text. 4) Paste the text from the message window into a text file (preferably saved with a .txt extension) and attach that file to your response on this thread. Thank you -- On Fri, Jun 09 at 05:03 AM PDT, Maddy wrote:

Hi David,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
We are still investigating the OFX connection issue with Truist Bank at our end, but unfortunately this seems to be taking longer than expected to be fixed.
We'd recommend importing your data manually for the time being. You can download it using the OFX or QFX file format, if available. If not, use the QIF file format. (These files are sometimes referred to as Quicken or MS Money files). You can import the files to Moneydance using File --> Import.
The steps for manually importing your data are outlined in this article from the Knowledge Base.
We are sorry for the inconvenience this may be causing you but please stay reassured that you will be notified as soon as the problem is solved.
Thank you for your patience!

Hi David,
It's been brought to my attention that Truist charges their customers $7.95 every 30 days when OFX Direct Connect services are enabled.
Unfortunately, we've still not resolved the Truist OFX Direct Connect problems, so I would recommend you contact the bank and ask them to disable Direct Connect services. This will ensure you're not charged the $7.95 each month while these problems are ongoing. If you decide to use Direct Connect in the future, this service can be re-enabled.
Going forward, it will be cheaper for you to subscribe to Moneydance+. The cost is $4/monthly (or $40/annually), and you can connect with multiple financial institutions for this price, not just Truist.
If you'd like to subscribe to Moneydance+, the steps are outlined in this section of the knowledge base.

I have been using the MoneyDance OFX connection for the past two years with no monthly charge. They do have their own Direct Connect service which is $7.95 per month, but there has been no charge for direct link to their OFX server. Something about connecting directly to there OFX server has changed in the last few weeks, either at Truist or at MoneyDance. Please pin down where the change has occurred and see whether it can be fixed.
As for MoneyDance+, it doesn’t meet my needs because it has no bill paying capability.
I would think that you must have someone you can work with at Truist to determine what has changed.

Hi David,
I've been unable to diagnose the issue and resolve the Truist problems (I am the connection specialist), so the issue has been escalated to our lead developer.
This discussion has been flagged so we will notify you directly as soon as we have an update, an ETA for a fix, or a resolution has been implemented.
We've reached out to Truist to request help getting these problems resolved, but we have not yet heard back. Often banks won't communicate with Moneyaance as they advise their customers that they only support Quicken (even though Quicken and Moneydance use the exact same OFX server connection protocol).
If you speak to the bank, it would be really useful if you could ask them to contact us - they are more likely to listen to their customers than a small company like The Infinite Kind. You can tell them to email [email blocked].
If you prefer not to subscribe to Moneydance+, you can download files from your banks website and then import these files into Moneydance.
However, if you want to download your transactions automatically, Moneydance+ has a 30-day free trial, and you can cancel at any time. I understand this is not ideal but until this is resolved you can access bill payment services via the Truist website.

Quicken connections to Truist are working fine, so the problem must be in MoneyDance
