https://www.ezcardinfo.com/ ERROR
I have used Moneydance 2019.3(1880) for years. For years I've used ezcardinfo for two credit cards from two different institutions to download transactions. Suddenly, I can't download any transactions from either of my two credit cards. I use Moneydance to open the file, always a qfx file. Now I get an error message that says:
"There was an error importing the file 'Transactions_ some number_some number.qfx" java.io IOException Unexpected end of message prior to headers"
I don't know what to do, except to ask for help.

If not too private, upload the qfx file that has errors so that it can be examined. If too private, edit the info to be more generic.

I tried to upload samples of the files, but I can't due to an error message here at this site. All the exporting from ezcardinfo.com results in 0 byte files. The error message is:
There was a problem with your uploaded files.
Try zipping the problem files - our security system automatically blocks certain types of attachments and files. Unfortunately security is always a tradeoff with convenience.
Transactions_20230926_173459291383.qfx (0 Bytes) has contents that are not what they are reported to be Transactions_20230926_173036153338.qfx (0 Bytes) has contents that are not what they are reported to be
This is the error message I get from Moneydance:

Maybe you are trying to upload a zero byte file to MD, which causes the problem?
i.e. for some reason, your downloads are now all zero bytes versus what it used to be?
Just a thought.

Open the OFX file in a text editor on your machine and see what data it has in it.
If it is empty there is the first problem you need to resolve i.e. the download is not working and thus the file is empty.

Exactly correct about the 0 byte files. But, it's an automated process at Ezcardinfo (because it's so easy!). I don't know why the files are downloading as empty files. Surely I'm not the only one that uses Ezcardinfo.com. Ezcardinfo was not able to help me today, but some "expert" is supposed to call me in 3 to 5 days.
Any ideas? I generally use Firefox, I've tried Edge as well with the same results. Some weird Windows 10 deal? Wonder if Ezcardinfo changed anything in the last month or so? Is there some specific Java that I should have installed? Others with the same issue?
I'm just throwing out ideas.

dwg, yes the issue is empty files. Any ideas how I can find out why? The ezcardinfo help line I called was no help at all, except to promise me a call from someone who knows something in 3 to 5 days. Anything I can do?

I doubt dwg or myself know what's going on at ezcardinfo. I don't think we've had any similar reports here on the Moneydance forum.
I always like to help and don't like "pointing fingers" saying it's someone else's fault, but 0 byte files are hard to import, of course.

Zero byte files means no data is being downloaded.
There are two primary causes of this, the financial institution's download is not providing any data, or the browser is giving problems. The browser is easy enough to test by trying a different browser, the institution not providing any data, they are the only ones that can fix that.
Having two browsers installed is not generally a bad idea in any case.

To all, thanks for helping me crystalize what the basic issue is. I'll keep after finding the solution. I'll post back when that happens.

Friday about noon CST Ezcardinfo exports started working for me just as previously. I had contacted their help line and was promised a call withing 3 to 5 days. Apparently, they just fixed the problem rather than calling, which is OK by me.
