Online Check Payments Pre-Dated

How can I change the “preparation” date of a future-dated check to be the date of delivery? MD seems intent on dating the check 5 business days before the payment date, no matter what I do. For example, if I draw a check for 3/1/24, MD dates it 2/26/24. My bank does not withdraw payment until the check is presented, so there’s no valid reason to pre-date the check.

I’ve looked through the forum, and I’ve seen that I raised the issue before (in 2017!), but the discussion was closed without an answer. And I’ve looked through all the Toolbox options, but can’t find a relevant item. I have toggled Prefs/General/Separate Tax Date for Transactions and Prefs/Network/Observe Online Payment Date Restrictions” without success. Any other suggestions?

    Hi Henry,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Under normal circumstances your payment date has to be at least 7 days in the future. Checking the option "Observe Online Payment Date Restrictions" option under Preferences->Network, allows you to submit a transaction with a date less than 7 days into the future.

Can you check whether the checkbox is selected?

Thank you for the response. I've tried it both ways in the past, but at the moment it was unchecked, so I checked it and will test yet again with the next payment.

However, all my payments are all at least 7 days ahead, sometimes 6 months in the case of my mortgage! But the check date is always the preparation date (5 business days earlier) instead of the delivery date; that's what I'd like to fix.
