I live in the UK and happily go to my on line bank accounts, download a QFX file and import them into Moneydance.
The key is do your banks provide transaction file such as OFX, QFX, QIF etc you can download.
Automatic downloads outside North America is not currently supported but is said to be under investigation.
Downloaded the Moneydance trial version from https://infinitekind.com/download-moneydance-personal-finance-software which is a full working version with the only limit being a maximum of 100 manually entered transactions, with no time limit. Imported files from other financial programs and your bank have no limit on imports, provided that you do not confirm them.
