Cannot Download Wells Fargo Credit Card Transactions in New File
I created a new file with two Wells Fargo Bank Credit Cards. When I try to set up online banking for these two cards I get the following message:
"There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.
Bank Name:Wells Fargo Bank
The error code reported by the server was: 2000
The user has entered an invalid user ID or password. If registering for the first time, please login to https://www.wellsfargo.com/fmssetup to start the registration process.”
In one of my old files I am able to download transactions for these two credit cards using my Wells Fargo Bank user ID and password without any issues. When I try to download transactions into the new file using the same User Id and password I get the above error message.
I have no problem accessing my Wells Fargo account information online using my user ID and password.
Why can I download transaction in the old file and not the new one? I am using all of the same Wells Fargo Bank information in both the old and new files.

I second this question without the old / new file difference.
I have a new Wells Fargo credit card and new related WF account. I can access the cc account online with the credentials I set up. I get the error message listed by the OP when I try to set up credit card transactions access. Apparently you can download cc transactions as the OP can in one account.
Help?

This appears to be an OFX connection attempt. Error 2000 indicates you did not connect to Wells Fargo.
Did you create a brand new file? The old file works, so should also if you are using a copy of that file and updating it. What's the difference between the "old file" and the "new file"?
-------
@davet65 - version, OS, etc? 2000 again means you simply are not connecting via OFX.

Hi Alan,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
In order to enable Moneydance to connect to your Wells Fargo accounts, you'll need to follow the instruction in this link: https://wellsfargo.com/fmssetup
Once you login, there is a process in which Wells Fargo sends a message to your phone. Entering that message into the form on the Wells Fargo site will confirm your identity and enable Moneydance to connect.
You should then attempt to download your Wells Fargo accounts using Moneydance within 10 minutes. Once the first connection is made, you should then be able to download from your Wells Fargo accounts at any time in the future without having to repeat this process.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

I was successful on my second try. I thought I did the instructions in the link the first time, but perhaps not. Or, perhaps my CC account was just too new at Wells Fargo end.
In any event, it does work, and thanks for the help.
