Small hollow blue circles
Can someone please explain to me the meaning of the small, hollow blue circles to the left of the Category? According to the knowledge base, the hollow circle indicates a “confirmed” transaction (i.e. from downloaded data); however, choosing “unconfirmed” from the pop-up menu (filter) does NOT show unconfirmed transactions (in fact, it doesn’t show ANYTHING at all!). What am I missing here?

Solid blue is download and not confirmed.
Hollow blue is downloaded and confirmed/merged
You cannot unconfirm a transaction. You can only change the reconciled/cleared setting ;which is the yellow/green diamond/circle symbol.

hollow blue means confirmed, solid blue means downloaded but unconfirmed.
If you have solid blue transactions and bring up the pop-up menu (filter), the solid blue ones should show up there.

Okay, I think I get it: “unconfirmed” in this case means “DOWNLOADED BUT unconfirmed,” not simply unconfirmed—right?

Confirmed/Unconfirmed only applies to downloaded/imported transactions, it does not apply to manually entered transactions.

Downloaded transactions should have a solid blue dot next to them in the description field. Clicking on a transaction with a blue dot should open a right sidebar with confirmation options. If the transaction is similar to one you have already manually entered, one of the options should be to merge those transactions. Choosing the correct category for transactions in the confirmation process allows Moneydance to improve its suggestions for future downloads. The more transactions you correctly confirm in this process, the better the program will become at suggesting the correct confirmation option from the start. After confirming, the blue dot will change to a hollow circle.
