Moneydance+/Plaid not allowing me to add any account.

Because of the Target Red Card problem I occasionally delete my connection and reconnect to get the latest transactions.

Today when I tried to reconnect ANY account, Target Red Card, Amex, Chase, etc. I get an "internal error" that sometimes occurrs before I can even enter my login info. Other times I can enter the login info but then it immediately gives me the internal error dialog.

Any ideas? Seems like the MD connection to Plaid is not working. I can go to the my.plaid.com site and add accounts but then they don't link up to MD.

    I am having this same problem. MD has been a mess for months now - I shouldn't have to constantly disconnect/reconnect accounts in order to download transactions.

    Just to be clear, are you having the same issue with the Target Red Card (a known issue between Plaid and Target) or are you getting this internal error when trying to add any account to Plaid?

    Nope. I have a message under the problems forum. Im hoping this’ll get
    resolved soon. I switched from quicken cuz of their problems and now
    having the same ones here.

    You know it used to be when I tried to connect an account and was sent to the Plaid site in Safari, it would send a confirmation text. That is no longer happening. I wonder if that could be the issue? No idea how to fix as I've deleted cookies for infinite kind and plaid.

    I even tried changing the default browser from Safari to Firefox hoping that might trigger the confirmation text. But, alas, no luck.

    I'm trying to sign up for Moneydance+ for the first time, and also encountering this problem above.
    MD 2024.1 on Windows
    Online > Set up Moneydance+ > [Setup] > It says "Your fully connected}
    I click [Connect Accounts] and Google Chrome opens the "Moneydance uses Plaid" page. I click [Continue] and Plaid says "Select your Institution"
    Any Bank that I click, it shows the "Internal Error Occurred" message.

    When I was registering, I didn't complete a yearly registration, but started over with a monthly registration. After I successfully registered monthly, I encountered the problem. Later I got an email that I had not completed registration (I presume for the yearly payment).

    I have to wonder if my bank connection request is associated with the incomplete (yearly) registration, instead of the successful (monthy) registration??

    Thinking I should start over, I canceled my Moneydance+ Plaid registration, but Moneydance says I'm still "Fully Connected" and I don't know how to start over, maybe with a different email address??

    I entered the code at the linked page and the registration was successful. However, when I tried to connect a bank to an account, I got the "Internal error" message above.

    I have to wonder about the long file name. I've seen long names cause issues in unrelated software. Just a thought.

    You can add me to the list. I had previously linked my accounts in a MD file. Because I wasn't satisfied with how I'd reconciled transactions, and didn't see a way to clear an account and start over, I started a new file from scratch. But Plaid has not allowed me to connect with any of my accounts. Same message as everyone else has received.
    Should I have uninstalled from the original file and then tried to reconnect from the new file? It sounds like someone already tried this and it didn't work.
    This isn't a killer for me as I don't use MD to make any transactions, just overall tracking. But I don't want to pay for a Plaid subscription if it's not working.

    It sure would be nice if InfiniteKind would comment on this issue and whether they have seen it, want logs, etc. or where they are.

    experiencing this issue so HOPEFULLY they’ll see it’s not a one-off.

    One thing to try, when it gets messed up with this is install the Toolbox extension. Try some of the online banking tools to remove various banking information thoroughly. Sometimes it doesn't get completely deleted when you remove a service.

    EXPORT a BACKUP of your file before doing anything!

    This is interesting info and suggests that there is a possible server error with MD and plaid (as seems likely).

    FYI I had the error even when trying to add a new institution that wasn’t in my previous file.

    Understand. But if there is an error between MD+ and Plaid that could come into play as soon as you try to authenticate to Plaid, before adding any Bank info.

    Just a guess.

    I've reported the existence of these threads (cannot add new account) along with the link jehrler posted directly to MD/IK... we'll see what happens.
