Trouble with Plaid

I keep having trouble linking online banking accounts with Moneydance. Everytime I try to setup Moneydance+ and link new accounts, the Plaid link fails. when I click Online>Setup Moneydance+>Connect More Accounts> a link in my browser will open with https://mdplus.infinitekind.com/tik/plaid_link..... However when I try to connect to a banking institution to add I continuously receive the Plaid error "Something went wrong Internal error occurred" and I am unable to link any new accounts. I thought that it was because I had an older version software of Moneydance, so I upgraded to the 2024 update and I am still getting the error.

I bought Moneydance in 2023, and it was the 2022 version. I got frustrated with the setup back then and left it alone, but I am now trying to setup again an even after spending an additional $25 to upgrade to the 2024 version I am running into many complications that are making me regret the purchase. The problem seems to be tied to Plaid. I have been in contact with my banks, and they have tried to help - but I have been having problems adding all of my banks. I need help. When I bought this software I expected to be able to link my accounts like I have with Intuit Mint, but I am becoming extremely frustrated in wasting hours of my days trying to get this software to work.

    This is a known issue that Plaid sprung on MD. It is affecting everyone trying to add an account via MD+. I was one of the first to notice on June 26 and it took nearly a week for it to be recognized as a systemic Plaid issue and not a one-off for just a few of us. It seems that MD+ hit a super secret double probation limit.

    Hopefully it will be resolved soon as the issue has been identified but now we are waiting on Plaid to fix (which the holidays have made slower).

    I hear you on the frustration but Plaid sprung a heretofore unknown limit on them so, for me anyway, I'm much more angry at Plaid for their lack of transparency and communication to IK/MD than IK/MD themselves..

    Not that this will be any consolation, but accounts that were set up before June 26 are still working, given they were already connected.

    It's the "super secret double probation limit" that Plaid threw at MD+ that prevents any new accounts from being set up for now. Nothing Moneydance can fix on their own, Plaid has to remove the problem issue.

    I always suggest as well, if you can use OFX direct connect (harder and harder to do), that should be the first thing you try, and you can try that now while waiting for Plaid to do something.

    OFX connections and MD+ can be mixed between accounts, so you don't have to do either one exclusively.

    Yes, I'm just trying to distract everyone with something to do while waiting for Plaid.... ;) --- but it's still not a bad idea if you can do this with some accounts.

    The problem appears to be resolved. I was able to add two accounts with Plaid this morning.
