Is Ameriprise Financial working for anyone?
I can't get it to work... using both OFX (Console shows a Java message that includs "403: Forbidden (authentication issue wtih Ameriprise?)) and Mondance+/Plaid ("Couldn't connect to your institution") .
Looking through the support posts it seems that it's been hit-or-miss to get it to work. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious.
If neither works what do users do? Do you do a monthly csv download and import (although the CSV file that I can download is not parsed out very well) or ???

Does Ameriprise Financial support manual OFX downloads? (Given the word "financial", CSV files basically don't parse for financial actions)
Schwab enraged me by stopping both OFX direct connect AND manual OFX downloads. I honestly have no idea what I'd do other than manual entry (or leaving!) if Schwab stopped providing data via Plaid/MD+. (Schwab is the reason I started using MD+, even though I despise the aggregation concept.)

As for 403 forbidden - it could indeed be an authentication issue, though I don't know what that would be. (Assuming 3rd party access permission is in place?)

Worst case I can download a CSV file of the transactions, and then a little Excel macro to do some parsing so that the data is semented properly for an import... but that's kind of a PITA and a disappointment that I'd have to do it.

Unfortunately, it's hard to control what banks are doing these days. More and more it seems they don't even want to give you your own data. Fidelity insists you use their own aggregator (for a cost), Schwab turned off OFX and even manual OFX downloads, USAA did the same...
So., yes, a lot of banks are currently PITAs and are disappointing to deal with.

Ameriprise was showing as connected for me but wouldn't download any transactions. I disconnected it from Plaid and tried to re-connect, but am now also getting the "Couldn't connect to your institution" message. When I reached out to Ameriprise, they said Plaid wasn't one of their supported systems and that they only support the following aggregators:
· PageOnce
· Mint
· Yodlee
· eMoney Advisor
· Morningstar
· Finicity
· Fidtech
· Quovo
They further stated: "At times, Ameriprise may show up on the aggregator's list of financial institutions. This does not mean Ameriprise has given the outside company permission to aggregate data. We are unable to provide support to clients who attempt to aggregate Ameriprise Financial account information into other services. These services use their own protocol and software in their process; Ameriprise is not involved and is unable to support their processes. The secure site on ameriprise.com built-in password and authentication still applies when aggregators attempt to access our client's Ameriprise accounts. You can request Plaid contact us for further assistance."
