Direct Connect
Following the instructions verbatim as given as what to say: Did just that @ PNC Bank and seemed to be running in the right direction until the girl said, "Hold on while I get the Quicken team on with us." That was a wrench that wasn't expected. Decided then just to tell the truth that I was using MD and after holding 10 minutes, just hung up. Reporting this as a new twist as there is nothing that mentions getting the Quicken team on the line w/the customer. Any advice?

Hi,
That's frustrating. I don't see why the PNC rep would need to speak with anyone from Quicken. All the rep needs to do is enable Direct Connect access at the banks end. There are no additional steps required in Quicken or by Quicken.
I would suggest calling again, and hopefully, you'll get through to someone else who will simply enable Direct Connect services for you. If the new rep also advises they need to speak with Quicken, I would ask them to explain why that is, as I cannot think of any reason this would be required.

Thanks Jenny, called back and after 8/10 minutes it appears that PNC has it's own Quicken department. Was transferred to them and the little girl who helped me appeared to know what she was doing. However, she guided me to a page online that was my account and I was requested to choose which version of Quicken I was using. Then I told her about MD and after her reading on her end, she informed me that PNC did not acknowledge OFX Direct Connect. But I checked before starting all this and it shows they are listed as approved OFX. Rep told me PNC ONLY accepts Intuit products and nothing else. So, I'm back to square one, nothing gained, and only time lost.

That's why you should never say Moneydance, only Quicken. You will get exactly that response.
BTW, Quicken is NOT an Intuit product. so PNC bank shouldn't be supporting them either. Intuit sold off Quicken years ago.
Quicken is changing how things work with their newest products, so your answer should have been Quicken 2016 (as that is where many stopped when Quicken became a subscription product.)
That is basically the same as moneydance, as both support OFX Direct Connect, so whatever they'd do to make Quicken 2016 work would make Moneydance work.
So she made at least two mis-statements.
So, as was first stated, never say Moneydance....

OK, seems like my last post got lost somewhere. Anyway, Rep called me back from the bank and upon further review, she stated that if they treat MD like Quicken it should work. She is mailing me a pw to use along w/my User Name and everything should be fixed as far as Direct Connect is concerned. Will advise.

I was posting about a mistake I said - Quicken used to sunset their product after 3 years so Quicken 2016 would have stopped downloading in 2019/2020.
I was going to suggest posting the listing of Quickens and we could possibly help choosing one, but what you say last post sounds great.

Rep told me to choose any version I wanted. Didn't know about the selling
of Q but do remember that's what I was using before getting disgusted
w/their sub fees and such. Found MD and the rest is history. Will post
results after receiving the login requirements.

There are many Quicken deserters here (including myself).

Only regret I have dtd, is not discovering MD before locating it. Became a Q user in 1985 and haven’t missed it a bit!

UPDATE: Received my PIN and it did not work! Took me 2 days trying to get back in touch w/the agent that knew what she was doing. Finally reached her today and with just a click of the switch, BAM, downloaded all transactions since 12/5. She said bank was asking me to change the PIN, but I never saw that message. Anyway, all's well that ends well!
