Etrade Connection
I am loving my MONEYDANCE and I have 27 accounts all downloading online which is awesome and doing exactly what I need it to do. My ETRADE accounts will not connect and I have tried for a few days, any advice? I have attached a screenshot of the error.

Hi Mike,
We are sorry to hear about the problem you have encountered.
Is it possible that you were connecting using the OFX service method prior to switching to Moneydance +?
If this is the case for you, in order to stop the OFX method taking over Moneydance + and allow your transactions to download as expected, you should clear the current connection information still stored within the program.
To achieve this, please navigate to Extensions->Manage Extensions and install the Toolbox (v.1066)
Launch the Toolbox and select the Update Mode
Then, navigate to Menu: Online Banking (OFX) Tools
In the resulting window, under Update Functions you should select :
Delete OFX Banking Service / Logon profile (remove_one_service.py)
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

I came from quicken and dont know what the connection service was prior to switching to moneydance. I am reluctant to change anything regarding downloads as I have 27 bank and credit account working and downloading perfectly.
Do you know if I try this fix, will it affect my other online downloads? Maybe I can backup and restore if things go sideways?

Just found this on the web:
OFX is the language that Quicken and QuickBooks speak to other software applications when they request and receive financial information. When a customer downloads their account data, this data request is encoded in OFX and transparently transmitted over the Internet to an OFX Web server.

And then this:
As of Oct. 6, Chase, Bank of America and other major institutions have disabled OFX connections to download transactions.

More:
E*Trade (Etrade Securities LLC) hosts an Open Financial Exchange (OFX) server. OFX is a standardized data format used to exchange financial information between different software systems, such as banking systems, accounting software, and personal finance management tools

So the question is:
Can you use both connection methods? I have 27 accounts working perfectly without the OFX connection and I need ETRADE to use the OFX connection.

Yes you can use both connection methods, just not both methods for the one account, that is designed to be a one or other approach and if you were to set up both OFX would always be used and there is no fail over.

dwg, how would I select OFX for just ETRADE so nothing else uses OFX?

When you set up a connection you are selecting the method used for that specific connection, it is part of the set up process.

dwg, thank you. Im all connected to ETRADE with that info. I appreciate you!
New question: how am I able to dowload the end of day quotes to match my data and update the balances?

Quote prices are downloaded using an Extension.
At this time I would suggest you use the Quote Loader extension details can be fond in the post:

dwg: your awesome bro. Thanks so much for the guidance.
I have quote loader running fine and have manually imported all my trades. Is there now a way for those new quotes and balances to make its way into the register sidebar and have those total match up? TIA
