Company is currently moving from HelthEquity HSA to Fidelity HSA. Fidelity HSA Account has already been setup on Fidelity Website with money contributed every paycheck. Fidelity HSA Account shows up in Fidelity Net Benefits and Fidelity websites. Unfortunately, I have been unsuccessful seting up online access to this account and I'm not sure why. I have tried both Fideltiy Investments and Fidelity NetBenefits OFX Connections; All check boxes are greyed out. I have no problem downloading my fidelity investments.

Any help would be much appreciated.

It should be very similar to my previous HealthEquity setup.
Fidelity HSA (Cash) should operate as a "Checking Account" Bank
Fidelity HSA Investment Fund should operate as an "Investment (Fund(s))" Investment
I have a contribution trigger setup in Fidelity HSA (Cash) Account. When Cash Account exceeds $2,500.00 then buy shares in investment fund. This is normal.

So, I guess the only way to set this up is by having my Fidelity HSA as an Investment, which should work out since the account will have a cash balance and a fund portion. After changing my Fidelity HSA Account to an Investment the online banking (OFX) setup picked up my HSA Account number in Fidelity's drop down list. Looks like a success so far. When the HSA finally transfers from HealthEquity to Fidelity, I should be able create my Fidelity Fund(s) and re-balance.

    Hi,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Your financial institution will require you to enable your accounts for application-based online banking. You can accomplish this by asking your bank to set up your account for direct connections from Quicken.

Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server connection protocol as Quicken but your bank representative may not know this and mistakenly believe that you can not connect in Moneydance.

Calling up your bank and stating precisely the following should get you started:

"Please enable direct connect on my account such that I can connect to your servers directly with Quicken. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect Quicken to this service."

Application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.

For further information, please refer to this article of the Knowledge Base.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thanks for your interest in Moneydance!

Side note: You should also ensure that the local Moneydance account (listed on the left side bar) is the correct account type.

Fidelity has already enabled Direct Connect, but apparently MoneyDance is not shaking hands correctly.

Would you be able to send us a copy of your Moneydance error logs? The logs should include information on what might be causing the issue.

You could navigate to Help->Console Window and click the arrow (at the bottom left). Select Copy to Clipboard and attach or paste the full content in your next reply.

    Alternatively, you should navigate to:

    Local Disk(C:)>Users>Your Name>.moneydance>errlog.txt

Finally you can copy the full content into your next reply here.

    Thank you
