Duplicate investment transaction downloads.
So, oddly today I received duplicate transactions downloaded in 11 T.Rowe Price accounts. The originals were all downloaded and confirmed back in December (year end distributions), and all of them down just downloaded again.
I suspect deleting the new dupes will only work until the next download where they would reappear.
I see two options:
- Option 1 - Moneydance is not matching the transaction ID's for some reason.
- Option 2 - T.Rowe Price gave the transactions new transaction IDs.

I'd go with option 2. And deleting the dupes will only work till the next download, as you conjectured.
How many dupes were there in the 11 accounts? If not many, delete the old and keep the new.
If a lot, see if you can reset the sync date to a date as close to the present as possible, delete the new dupes, and at worst they'll come back again, at best, they won't be picked up.

If you confirmed the transactions then option 2 is more likely. They could well have changed something on their systems are stuffed it up.
You have not changed Moneydance versions so nothing is changed in the software, and it will not suddenly stop working properly.

Had the exact same issue. Also occurred with Quicken, so points to change on T.Rowe Price side. I deleted old entries and confirmed the new journals, then reran online download. Nothing new showed up. With Quicken, I simply deleted the new entries as that software tracks FITID differently and won't redownload them.

Thanks everyone. Removing the original's and (re)accepting the new ones seems to have worked, but it was like 40 transactions, so a bit of a pain in the rear; and I really really hate deleting transactions already marked as clear....
More concerning is that T.Rowe would change a transaction ID - would have expected that type of stuff to be set in stone.
Any consideration to a feature ask to allow us to manually match transactions - or is that too big of a lift?

The IDs are set by the download server, so change anything on those and the IDs can change.
Merging of transactions has been a requested feature. If I recall correctly, there was a trial of merge capability last year which did not progress.
