re-associate securities in Moneydance+?

I set up some Vanguard accounts via Moneydance+ (since Vanguard's existing OFX stuff doesn't seem to work anymore?) and when doing the initial download for an account, MD+ prompted me to set up the associations between the securities it downloads from Vanguard with the existing ones in my Moneydance account.

For some of those, the correct one just wasn't listed, so I selected "none of the above". Now I've figured out which local/existing security those should be -- but I don't know how to tell MD+ about that. How can I go through that association again? How can I tell MD+ how to match up the downloaded tickers/securities with my local ones again?

    Hi Dan,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Firstly, please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in responding to your query.

When you click the "Add Security" button, you are offered a list of securities to add to that investment account, or the option to create a new security.
The securities shown in the popup list are those that appear in your data file, but aren't yet associated with that specific investment account.

For further details, please refer to this article of the Knowledge base.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions or need more assistance.

Additionally, you should navigate to the bank's website to check that your accounts are individually enabled for third party access and they do not require a one-time authorization password, for instance.

Also, please ensure that your accounts are assigned as described in this article.

Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!

This isn't about clicking Add Security; in my workflow, I am downloading from Moneydance+. I get a popup that says "please choose the security that matches the information below. Your selection will be used to match downloaded transactions with the appropriate security." It then has the security name and a "SEDOL" field. Those show what Moneydance+ is sending; below that is a dropdown with the local securities associated with the account.

For some of them, there's enough information in the security name for me to associate with the security already in Moneydance. But for example, right now I'm seeing one whose name and SEDOL are both just numbers! 2571678, it turns out. I tried searching, but I can't find anything about that number.

What's worse is that the dropdown does not have all the securities in the account! After selecting "none of the above", and comparing with what I see when I log into Vanguard, this particular 2571678 one is Vanguard's money market fund -- but the dropdown only lists some of the securities associated with my local account, and the money market fund isn't one of them.

How can I tell Moneydance that, when downloading transactions from Moneydance+, that this "2571678" should be matched with a particular security already associated with my account?

You could try removing and recreating the connection.

In order to achieve this navigate to Online menu->Moneydance+ Set up->Accounts and where it reads "Connected" on the right, click and select disconnect in the popup.

Then try to recreate the connection as outlined here.

Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!

The main issue with the proliferation of new SEDOL or CUSIP or ISIN values is that Moneydance will create one of each, but will not allow a second entry, nor will it replace an old one with a new one. Thus if you get a new SEDOL for a security that already has one, the pick list will only show those securities without a SEDOL, so you cannot pick what you want, and none of the others are appropriate.

About the only way to get around it is to use Toolbox, Online Tools, View hidden CUSIPS, then probably Fix/Edit hidden CUSIPS. I've asked for this to be fixed, but have received no traction.
