Hello, I am trying to add Fidelity Investments, cash management account using Online Banking. When I try to add, and enter my username and password, the account selection dialog box appears, but there are no accounts listed.

    just a user,

be sure to have your new Cash Management Account selected before you click Set up Online Banking. and be sure to chose Fidelity Investments. I tried doing that on a test data base and it worked.

    Hi Scott,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.
I can see you’ve received a reply from one of our knowledgeable Moneydance customers.

To add to this useful information I thought it's worth mentioning that Fidelity Investments will require you to enable your accounts for application-based online banking.

You can accomplish this by asking your bank to set up your account for direct connections from Quicken. Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server connection protocol as Quicken but your bank representative may not know this and mistakenly believe that you can not connect in Moneydance.

Calling up your bank and stating precisely the following should get you started:

"Please enable direct connect on my account such that I can connect to your servers directly with Quicken. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect Quicken to this service."

Application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thanks for your interest in Moneydance!

    Hi Maddy,
Thanks for the response. According to this Fidelity site I included below, there is nothing necessary to be enabled on their end.

    https://www.fidelity.com/customer-service/faqs-exporting-account-in...

Must I enroll for the account download service?

You do not need to enroll to use the account download service. All you need to download your data is an online password to access your account. This is the same password that you use to access your account through Fidelity.com.

If this applies, you should begin by selecting the appropriate account from the sidebar in Moneydance. Then navigate to Online → Set Up Online Banking and follow the steps outlined in this article of the Knowledge Base.

Please keep us posted on your progress, Thank you!

    just a user,

Are your other account working (downloading) OK ?

If so, then you should be able to set up Cash Management.

If your other Fidelity accounts work, I can send you some screenshots of my process to set up my Cash Management account if that can help. I do remember having some issues when I set up Cash Management in MD. But whatever it was cleared up and I was successful

I have both Investment and Cash Management accounts but there are no accounts available in the drop down menu (see screenshot from first post).

    Just a user,

Here is a sequence of screenshots where I created the Fidelity Cash Management account on a test database. Maybe you'll see something that you can use. Once you get the account established, under the online tab, click download all or select the Cash Management account and download the specific account.

@mhoggie, I appreciate those details - I was able to get it working!

The issue was I had set up my Fidelity accounts previously as 'Bank' accounts instead of 'Investments'.

I created a new Investment account and set up online banking - then all my Fidelity accounts appeared in the drop down menu.
