Wright-Patt Credit Union online banking
Good day,
Since the beginning of April, I have been unable to connect to online banking at Wright-Patt Credit Union via OFX. Prior to April, I was able to connect without problems. Now, when I attempt to connect I get a handshake_failure error. In an attempt to refresh the connection, I have deleted all online banking connections to that institution and attempted to recreate them. When I work through the process, I am never asked for my username or password, and on the final window both the "Online Banking" and "Bill Payment" check boxes are greyed out. My log file contains the following lines after attempting to set up the OFX connection:
Error refreshing profile information:

I have tried this with both my most recent registered version of MD (2024) and the current version available for download on the web page (2024.4) with no difference observed between the versions.
I reached out to Wright Patt Credit Union and received the following response:
"We are aware that some members have been having troubles with financial apps updating recently. Our Digital team has recommended to delete and then re-add the "direct connect" link. It is also suggested to first save/backup any information before unlinking the accounts."
Unfortunately, I've already done this. Any assistance with troubleshooting would be most appreciated!
Thank you,
Mark

It has been noted in other threads that very similar handshake errors are being seen with a number of different institutions. The common factor appears to be all these institutions are using the same OFX service provider.
Perhaps your Institution is also using this provider.
TiK are saying they there have identified that some changes have been made in the required connection information relating to this so they are looking at updating their connection information for any institutions that they identify is using this provider.

Thanks! That sounds promising. I'd seen the other threads last night but didn't think to check again today for an update.

FWIW here is the connection information for your institution
{
"id" = "md:1887"
"uses_fi_tag" = "y"
"access_type" = "OFX"
"fi_name" = "Wright-Patt Credit Union"
"bootstrap_url" = "https://ofxdc.prd1.ncr.com/cmr/cmr.ofx"
"fi_id" = "242279408"
"app_id" = "QWIN"
"fi_org" = "DI"
"app_ver" = "2400"
}
And here it is for one of the other institutions
{
"id" = "md:2689"
"fi_name" = "Heritage Bank - Olympia, WA"
"fi_org" = "DI"
"fi_id" = "325170835"
"bootstrap_url" = "https://ofxdc.prd1.ncr.com/cmr/cmr.ofx"
"uses_fi_tag" = "y"
"app_id" = "QWIN"
"app_ver" = "2700"
"access_type" = "OFX"
}
You can see they use the same bootstrap i.e. server.
So you appear to be one of the people caught up in this.

Hi Mark,
I'm sorry to hear about the problems you've encountered.
We've been receiving lots of reports from customers who are seeing this same error when trying to connect with multiple different banks. The reported banks all use the same server information for OFX Direct Connect, so we believed this was most likely a temporary outage or the server was down for maintenance.
Yesterday, I saw that there has been a slight change to the connection information for all banks that use this same OFX server. I am in the process of updating the connection details in Moneydance. The changes will be reviewed by our lead developer and then made available in the program - this shouldn't take more than a day (a few days at most, with it being the weekend).
I will let you know when the new connection details are available in Moneydance. You can then test them, and hopefully you'll be able to connect again.

Hi Mark,
I have made the necessary changes to the Wright-Patt CU connection, and the new connection details are now available in Moneydance. If you recreate the connection, you should now be able to connect.
If the problems persist, let me know, and we'll troubleshoot further.
