PNC disaster

I realize lots of people have had problems connecting PNC to MD. If you have a "virtual wallet" account at PNC, stop trying. The bank says these accounts can only connect to Quicken, using direct connect. They are not enabled for web connect, which you need for Quickbooks and Moneydance. It's a brick wall. In other words, if you use PNC's online billpay, you can't automatically download transactions to Moneydance. Ever. I can't decide whether to ditch Moneydance or PNC, but as I've used Quicken successfully with PNC for many years the easy way out is to get rid of Moneydance. Sad.

I am not support staff, just a user.

I am not a PNC customer but Moneydance uses Direct Connect not Web Connect as you stated.
Most banks first line support staff have not heard of Moneydance so automatically say its not supported, they only support Quicken. If they support Direct Connect and provided the bank is on Moneydance list (see ) they do support Moneydance even though they don't know it. Don't know if Moneydance supports your PNC account.

    Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply. Got the types of connections mixed up but the issue remains. It's baked in to PNC's most popular account, the Virtual Wallet. You can use Web Connect with that, which I did for years with Quicken. You can't use Direct Connect. So while Moneydance can put PNC on its list, it's only compatible with SOME accounts at PNC. Stinks.
