has changed servers, forcing me to relink to my accounts to get
online banking working again. The first time I did this, the first
download after relinking included every transaction for the
previous two years, resulting in hundreds of duplicate transactions
which I had to remove by hand. I blamed RBC and moved on, but this
time I called them first and found out that, while Quicken resends
the last download date when relinking, MD does not, so the server
simply sends every transaction it has records of. They were kind
enough to do a work-around with me this time by temporarily
overriding MDs first request after relinking and forcing the new
server to only send recent transactions when I relinked, but it
seems to me that this omission on MD's part should be simple to fix
and that you should do so forthwith.

patricktag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/364355112015-03-31T12:51:57Z2015-03-31T12:51:57ZMD not supplying last download date when relinking to accounts

Don't know why this discussion became private. I did not check

Sorry for the late response.

I asked the lead developer about this and he said that
Moneydance sends the last date it has downloaded transactions for
and only asks for transactions since that date. I sent your thread
to him. He thought that it may be that when setting up a new
connection on an account that the account will think that it hasn't
downloaded anything from that connection before and reset the date
windows. This is not the intended function and he is checking out
if that is indeed the fact.

If so then its a bug and we will work on resolving it as soon as
possible..

Hopefully it's not too late to be of any use to you, but build
1208 of Moneydance should fix this problem by no longer resetting
the last-download-date in the accounts online banking information.
If you would like to try it out, this build should be available
within about 40 minutes from the date of this message here:
