I use my creds for the bank daily so I know they are correct. What can I do to move past this issue? I did try to test this before I purchased the software, not sure if that would have a negative impact of not but I thought I would let you know.

Chris Brookstag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/477245432019-10-14T10:19:59Z2019-10-14T10:19:59ZUnable to setup a USAA account

Hi Chris,
Thank you for contacting Moneydance support.

Moneydance supports automatic downloads using Direct Connect, and you can view a list of financial institutions we've already established connections with on this page.

Both USAA Federal Savings Bank and USAA Investment Management Co. are listed, so you can set this up within Moneydance by navigating to Online --> Set Up Online Banking. Then select 'New Connection' and choose your financial institution from the list.

Most banks require that you contact them to enable Direct Connect before you can download your data from within Moneydance. Have you already done this?

When you enable Direct Connect, you'll be given the login credentials you need to connect. Generally, these login details differ from those used for other services like ATM or online banking.

As mentioned above, many financial institutions will require you to enable your accounts for application-based online banking.
You can accomplish this by asking your bank to set up your account for direct connections from Quicken. Moneydance uses exactly the same OFX server connection protocol as Quicken but your bank representative may not know this and mistakenly believe that you can not connect in Moneydance.

Calling up your bank and stating precisely the following should get you started. "Please enable direct connect on my account such that I can connect to your servers directly with Quicken. Also give me the login credentials I need to connect Quicken to this service."

Application-based online banking often requires a different login/PIN than the ones that are used for ATM or web-based banking. When you enable your account for access from Moneydance or Quicken, your financial institution should let you know what customer ID/login and PIN to use.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if you have further questions or need any assistance.
