new problem with an old account not allowing access: error 2000
Hello,
I have two separate Chase credit card accounts that I have tracked with Moneydance for years. Today MD asked me for the login credentials for each, which are separate (one belongs to my wife, one belongs to me). My wife's logs in fine, but mine returns a 2000 error code indicating the server denied access. When I called chase, they verified I am successfully logging into the account from the website directly but it indicates that MD is not querying its servers at all. I have deleted and recreated both connections and uninstalled/reinstalled MD (which yesterday gave an indication it had been damaged somehow, but was resurrected with a computer reboot). Ideas?

My Chase account is years old. I did delete the connection and am trying to set it up as a new connection, but I have (as most if not all of us) downloaded many times previous to this Chase problem. If I remember correctly, I think that I always got the 2000 error on the old settings, even before I tried to make it a new connection.

Build 1326 is available for all Operating Systems on the preview site:

I'm looking into this NPE and will have a new build available ASAP. It does seem like it's related to upgrading for older versions of Moneydance, which might explain why the preview works fine for some and not for others.

I mentioned previously that all my downloading issues were solved with build 1326. Turns out that's not quite true. I had one Chase personal account that did not have credentials entered into moneydance. When I try to add those, I get the NPE error after entering my password in the Setup Online Banking wizard. All other Chase accounts continue to work normally.

Hi all,
I believe the NPE should be fixed in build 1327, which should finish uploading to the preview page in about 30 minutes.
If you still get the Null Pointer error after updating, please let me know. If you get a 2000 error with a message like "USER IS NOT AUTHORIZED...", that means you need to activate your account at Chase in order to connect. First, log on to Chase's site, and click the Customer Center Tab. Click on "Financial Management Software". Select "Activate Direct Access through PFM service" and follow the prompts from there.
If you get the 2000 error with a message about your account possibly being compromised, try disabling and re-creating your connection in Moneydance. You should also log into your Chase account and check your secure message inbox. You should have a message that allows you to confirm your connection to this file.
Hopefully, with those two bugs fixed, everyone should be able to connect to Chase again.

Success!
1327 did it - no more NPE, no more 2000.... I got another message from
Chase to log in and verify again..... but i was able to then log in and
download my transactions (and my wife's kept working :)
I had to clean up a bunch of dups to clean up but now I am all set.

Hi All,
1327 has resolved the NPE issue for me as well.
Well done, Ian.

i'm now getting an error 2000 instead of the NPE message.

Sorry to spoil the party, but I still get the 2000 message as previously. I’ve tried the steps suggested to no avail. I have two cards associated with one password logon.

This worked for me. Thanks!

Thank you, Ian. Success.
After backing up the data, I had to recreate the problematic account and do Online:Set Up Online Banking again. All now works correctly with three accounts and two user names.

Just spoke with a chase representative regarding issuing me a new
security certificate. According to the rep due to a Chase"system
problem" they will be unable to issue the new certificate until January

Same here too. Still get the 2000 error message with build 1327. My main account still works fine but cannot access/download my wife's account without getting the 2000 error.

I did all of the steps - went onto Chase site activated Quicken downloads, set up new online online banking, put in my password, and got the 2000 error. I then checked to see if I got a secure message on the Chase website, and there was no new one there. I tried again, and still got he 2000 error. If it matters, I have had various versions of Moneydance for something like the last 10 years, so I have obviously updated from older versions.

Sorry - for post above, I forgot to mention that I downloaded the latest build 1327 before I did the above.

For those that are still having problems, can you try re-creating your connection with your financial institution and see if that fixes the issue that you're seeing? You will need to disable your current connection to your bank and then recreate it using the New Connection button on the Online Banking Setup screen. To do so, you can follow these steps:
Make sure you pick new connection, even though your bank is still one of the connection choices after you disable it. Choosing your bank from the list of available banks will force Moneydance to download the updated information, which should then allow you to connect.
If that doesn't work, please email us at support @infinitekind.com so that we can troubleshoot further with you one-on-one.

This comment was split into a new private discussion: chase error 2000 with 1327
Ian,
I have tried those exact steps several times now with build 1327 and still end up getting the 2000 error on my wife's account. My account downloads fine. I have upgraded from many earlier versions along the way if that helps. Never had a problem up until sometime in November when this started.
Sure hope it gets fixed soon.

Ian,
Thanks for your efforts. Long ago I disabled my connection with Chase and have been unable to reestablish it using the steps you describe, including with build 1327.

Ian,
I, too, have followed exactly those steps many times and still get the 2000 error.

OK, I think I figured out this issue. For folks who have reset their connections and are still getting the 2000 error, I'm sending a file called reset_clientUID.py should reset the client UID in your file and allow you to connect to all accounts again. Before proceeding, please back up your Moneydance data set, just in case something goes wrong. You can create a backup using the File->"Export Backup" menu option.
To use the file, first save it to your computer and then follow these steps:
Hopefully, that will work. If it doesn't, let me know and we'll continue troubleshooting.
