Temporally, it was associated with two things: 1) they changed the landing page for the web login to the cards; and 2) I was being assigned a new credit card number, which I didn't realize until I logged into the web portal. I then had 2 account numbers, so by changing the account number to the new one, this worked for me finally. I had some duplicate transactions but those were easily fixed, etc.

Of course, no clue if either of those was the issue, though. Hope this helps.

Jamietag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-17T12:07:07Z2020-05-17T12:07:07ZCiti Bank connections

All was fine until today. I even deleted 3rd access on citi and now I cannot add it back and I still get the same error from Moneydance. 2019.3

I seem to only have one account number at Citi and I have no idea how to change the landing page for Moneydance.

Any help would be wonderful.

Just started with the 2000 error yesterday. Thought that it most likely was temporary. Tried this morning and same error. I still have faith that this error will resolve on it's own (citi side).

TonyRItag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-18T12:20:17Z2020-05-18T12:20:17ZCiti Bank connections

Good morning. I spent a few hours on this yesterday and after quitting MD enough time the connection help and was added to the 3rd party access on Citi. It was not obvious.

I do not think this is a Citi issue. I think this is a Moneydance issue. I would also think we are due for an update soon.

My steps: follow all of the MD steps to disable online access. Quit MD. Go to Citi and delete MD from the 3rd party access. Then open MD. Then back to Citi and add application. Now re-enable online in MD. It took a few tries but it worked.

Let's see if it sticks

singerdftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-18T17:12:41Z2020-05-18T17:12:41ZCiti Bank connections

Well, this issue is back for me again as on 5/18/20. Before it just went away. But at that time it seemed that Citi would not work with my Firefox browser either - had to use Chrome. I have chatted with Citi Cards and they told me to enable 3rd party. I have never done this and it said it was NOT enabled. So I tried to enable it and still get error 2000 like I was before. I removed the connection for this account, exited MD, re-entered the info, and still no joy. Citi is not of any real help.I cannot say or even guess who's issue it is or why. I can say I am able to login to the Citi website.

whitedavidptag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-18T17:14:50Z2022-10-17T22:45:42ZCiti Bank connections

Unpleasant surprise for me yesterday: For the first time since mid-April, Moneydance could not connect to Citibank - error 2000. Happened last month and went away by itself after a couple of days. Doesn't seem to be going away this time.

Frank Atag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-19T16:38:22Z2020-05-19T17:51:40ZCiti Bank connections

Singerdf - you wrote "My steps: follow all of the MD steps to disable online access.
I am wanting to try this but am a bit confused. I have disabled 3rd party at Citi. To re-add, I must try to connect from MD. When I do this, I get the 2000 error, same as when I originally tried to connect. And after I DO succeed in adding MD, won't it already be enabled for online on that account?

Thanks

PS - I found out how to remove the sticky connection info from here https://infinitekind.tenderapp.com/discussions/problems/60775-remove-online-account-from-online-banking-signup#comment_48302902. Great! But even after trying this many times I have gotten nowhere at all. Still the 2000 error.

whitedavidptag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-19T16:43:07Z2020-05-19T16:43:08ZCiti Bank connections

I too am experiencing this now.
I am using Moneydance to download from my bank, 3 credit cards, and two brokerages. The only one that fails right now is Citi.
When I go into the console and looks at the OFML tags, the for the ones that succeed shows as QWIN. The one that fails, for Citi, shows as MDNC.
Why is it different for Citi? Is there any way to test using the QWIN value?

EdfromHuntsvilletag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-19T16:56:11Z2020-05-19T16:56:13ZCiti Bank connections

My post #43 above got garbled somehow and is missing some text. They give you 10 min to do so thru MD. Once you successfully complete on MD it will show on Citi. it is indeed confusing.

singerdftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-19T18:59:14Z2020-05-19T18:59:14ZCiti Bank connections

Thanks singerdf. I definitely get this. Citi gives 10 minutes for MD to connect. Since I have removed the previous connection for this account, I have to go thru setup for online banking on this account. This is what I do while Citi is waiting the 10 minutes. But every time I try to set up I get the 2000 error. So Citi never sees my attempts. As so I remain stuck - perhaps like many. But since you said you managed somehow to get past all this I wanted to make sure I was doing the same as you. Cheers

whitedavidptag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-19T19:09:28Z2020-05-19T19:09:28ZCiti Bank connections

How do I start the 3rd party app on the citi site?
you cannot start it from Citi site. You simply start Citi "listening" for connection from the 3rd party app.So once you start the Citi site listening, go to your 3rd part and try to make it connect to Citi.

whitedavidptag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-19T20:12:03Z2020-05-19T20:12:03ZCiti Bank connections

log in. click your name: Profile: More Settings: Desktop Apps.

the key for me was to quit Moneydance before I tried this. It took many attempts.

singerdftag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-19T20:34:52Z2020-05-19T20:34:52ZCiti Bank connections

Thank you whitedavidp and singerdf. I have 3 Citibank credit cards and an AT&T Universal Card. None are working. I have disabled all accounts, and quit MD. I have removed 3rd party access at Citi. Opened MD, set up downloading for one card and cannot get pass the Error 2000. Tried all of this a few times.

This download problem between Citicard and MD has been happening on and off for a couple of years. I have been able to fix it in the past (multiple tries and days of trying), but what a pain this has become!

Has anyone shifted away from MD to another app?? I don’t need it for investment tracking. Just checking account and credit card monitoring and categorization for taxes. I am on a Mac, which is why I switched to MD from Quicken in 2008 with my first MacBook.

donnatag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-19T20:48:14Z2020-05-19T20:48:14ZCiti Bank connections

donna,

I agree that this has been a come/go issue for a while now. It is hard for me to say if it is a MD problem or a Citi problem (or both). All I can say is that compared to Quicken I find MD a far more pleasant experience. It is not like Quicken didn't have problems.

At this point, I am going to try and stop fixating on this issue as I have the last few days. I will hope that MD or Citi takes steps to correct things. Meanwhile, the Citi web site allows you to export transactions easily enough in Quicken format and MD accepts these easily enough. Be careful with the date you use to avoid duplicate transactions (which are easy enough to merge should they happen).

Cheers

whitedavidptag:infinitekind.tenderapp.com,2009-01-14:Comment/482367762020-05-19T21:23:16Z2020-05-19T21:23:16ZCiti Bank connections

whitedavidp, you are correct.
I’m disappointed to see that you give up so easily. Notice that MD’s people are supposedly watching this thread. To see us willing to blame this situation on Citi alone is not accurate. Any bank has the right to change its landing page and it is the responsibility of the financial software to keep up with those page changes and to be aware and nimble enough to to adapt. If MD would rather than kiss off their customers is one thing. If its customers are willing to accept this laziness from MD is something entirely different. Amex, Chase, etc. will be changing their security access soon, what will you do then?

I, for one, expect MD to correct the situation quickly. They know what the problem is, they corrected it a month ago.
