Citi Bank connections

I keep getting this error for any citi cards accounts I have. This has been going on for weeks now. On occasion I can run the download again and it will complete downloading transactions. I am using the last beta version 2019.4 (1904) but this was present in the last release also. This is starting to get annoying so is this something on MD side or Citi side.

There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.

    tried the script - no change - still been unable to download citi transactions for over a week - same response from citi that has been mentioned - they say their error codes have letters as well as numbers and 2000 is not recognized - i asked about quicken - agent said they recommend the same thing they did with me - go online citi - to profile - more settings - then online with desktop apps - gives you 10 min to reinitiate - unfortunately that did not work either

    I just downloaded transactions from Citi. Yay.

    EDIT: wrong, I downloaded Chase transactions. Sorry for the false start.

    To the person that said Citi support wouldn't fix it: there is no time when I will ever believe a thing out of the mouths of support people at a large corporation. Call back 10 times and you'll get 10 difference answers.

    Same issues... following for updates.

    Since their card is the only account I have with them, it's far less of a pain to change my card carrier than to change the software I use.

    I just got off the phone with Citibank. They say they've made no changes to their portal connect in the last 3 weeks. You're not having any problem with Quicken. And the problem has to be on the side of infinite kind. I don't know what's taking so long for them to fix it. I wish they would communicate with us more often on this thread so that we know that they're still working on it.

    Hi Rusty,

    I've been in direct contact with the OFX server team at Citi and they've confirmed the fix will be deployed on Tuesday.

    As for Quicken, they are generally using a different kind of connection these days - one which routes logins and transactions through their own servers. That's something Moneydance will not be doing for both security and privacy reasons.

    Thanks Sean! I came here first to look to see if others were experience the same thing. I unfortunately started from the beginning and deleted access for both citi cards i have to i guess i'll go though that process one more time, tomorrow or Wednesday (since i'm not strong in believing the Citi folks!)

    Citi has had the 2000 error for weeks for me.

    As of 11pm MDT tonight (6/1) it worked again.

    The fix works! Thank you for resolving the issue. I was able to download the transactions today.

    Went through the setup from scratch, everything worked perfectly! Moneydance was added back to Citi's Active IDs (under "Manage Desktop Apps") after connecting during the 10 minute timer process. Woo hoo! :)

    Edit: Coincidentally, I have a 401k at Principal. They're not a supported bank, so I've been downloading an .ofx from their website. Starting about a month ago, those downloads have simply contained <STATUS><CODE>2000<SEVERITY>ERROR<MESSAGE>Connectivity Error</STATUS>. As of this morning, it again works too. So... both Citi and Principal stopped working at the same time... both returned error code 2000,... and then both started working at the same time.

    Citi is working again today - 6/2. I had to go to the Citi website and manage desktop apps because I removed MD earlier when trying to fix this problem. But all worked. Thanks to all!

    I've had the same issue with my Citi card accounts, and was getting that same error code, 2000. I still cannot download my Citi card accounts, and am now getting the following error:

    There was an error communicating with your financial institution. The details of this error are below.
    Bank Name: Citi Cards
    The error code reported by the server was: 13504

    I have also disabled MD from Manage Desktop Apps in CitiCards, and tried to establish a new connection, but that didn't work - was not able to establish a connection with MD.

    Ok, wow, scratch that last message...apparently I've changed my Citi Card user name in the last few years, and did not update it in MD for this new connection.
    All is well!
