Account number corruption - unable to download
I have been successfully downloading data from American Express but recently the downloads have failed due to a 2003 error. I have now tried to reset the download process. When I reset up a new connection to American Express, I am presented with a prompt to 'Please choose the account you wish to use'. The two accounts I have are listed, but the first 15 characters are alphanumeric followed by a '|' character and then the last (correct) 5 digits of the account numbers. It looks like the account number has been corrupted. The account record shows the correct account number. How is this being corrupted and how to fix?

I'm not from IK Support, but I don't believe that the account number is corrupted, but rather encrypted. When you map your account, use the ones indicated by the correct last 5 digits. Following the steps to recreate the connection should work and get you back up and running. If not, can you provide the Version/Build of Moneydance that you are using (Help > About Moneydaance):

Thanks, Tony. That worked. Is account encryption something that's been added as I've never seen the account number changed in the system like that? Thanks for your help.

I'm a fellow user.
From discussions on these forums it is apparent that some banks are doing this now.
From a security standpoint it does mean that if someone were to get hold of the data that the account number would be somewhat protected, The account number is not used in the download so it is more for human identification value that it is shown.
