setting up a Canadian Bank - no routing number
I have been working with a demo, uploading data from Quicken and all looked good so just purchased a live version. First step is to set up the bank accounts. Could it be that this product doesn't support Canadian banks? The new account screen asks for a routing number. I don't think Canadian banks use this. What other information should I use to set up my Canadian bank accounts?

Hi Kim,
You can view a list of our supported financial institutions here - http://infinitekind.com/fi
If your bank is on the list, then they support direct OFX connections. You can get up online banking with these banks within Online --> Set Up Online Banking. Then select 'New Connection' and choose your financial institution from the list.
If your bank is not listed, then unfortunately they do not support direct OFX connections, which Moneydance (and other financial software) requires in order to talk directly to a bank.
The best way to get your files into Moneydance is to use a web browser to download them from your bank's web site. You can download into QFX, OFX or OFC files (aka Quicken or MS Money files), any of which will import cleanly into Moneydance.
You can also open your bank's download page directly (after entering the appropriate address in the Account->Edit Account menu) by going to the menu bar and selecting Online->Open Account Website.
When creating an account, you will be asked for a routing number. This is a number that identifies the financial institution and the branch to which a payment item is directed. I believe that in Canada, is may be referred to as an EFT or Transit number. This information may be available on your banks website.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance, and thanks for your interest in Moneydance!
