I have been using MoneyDance from 01/01/2020 to today. No problems.
I now have a nightmare. Help

Without knowing what sort of problems you are having, any error messages you are getting etc it is not possible to help you.

Want to delete a whole block of transactions that I accidentally downloaded.

I'm a fellow user.
If they are a contiguous group of transactions in the register what you can do is Select first transaction then Hold down <Shift> and click on last transaction, this will select that whole group of transactions then use the <Delete> key with this group selected.
